1 Adult Department PHOTOGRAPHY Coordinator: Charlie Barboni, Fair Office Assistant Coordinator: Matt M. Smith, Novato Installers: Ellen Campbell, Fairfax Katya McCulloch, San Anselmo Wendy Goldberg, San Anselmo Jurors ~ Linda Connor San Anselmo Since the late 1960 s, Linda Connor has been teaching Photography at the San Francisco Art Institute and exhibiting, publishing, and teaching nationally and internationally. In 2002, she founded PhotoAlliance, a bay area non-profit organization dedicated to the understanding, appreciation and creation of contemporary photography. Her work is exhibited at the Haines Gallery in San Francisco. She feels comfortable with a variety of photographic approaches and image making. Connor has been the recipient of, among other awards, National Endowment for the Arts grants and a Guggenheim fellowship, Connor was given the Society of Photographic Education s Honored Educator Award in Germán Herrera San Rafael Germán Herrera is an artist who has exhibited and lectured in diverse venues in the United States, Latin America and Europe. He is represented by galleries in Houston, Madrid and along the West Coast. Herrera has been the recipient of two Marin Arts Council grants and an art residence at the de Young Museum in He was nominated for the Eureka Fellowship, SECA Awards and the Aperture West Book Prize. His images can be found in public and private collections, such as the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Museum of Photographic Arts, San Diego, Portland Art Museum and the Green Library, Stanford University amongst others. Ron Zak Sonoma Ron Zak has been a professional photographer since Following his graduation from San Francisco State he earned a Fulbright scholarship, landing him at the University of Belgrade in the former Yugoslavia. From there, it was a hop, skip and a shutter click to Paris where he began orchestrating trips abroad for other photography students. Since then he has taken small groups of students (currently through the Solano Community College) on one or two trips per year, each time to a different exotic location around the globe. What makes a photo work is the overall inclusion of the various ingredients, said Zak. But there are secrets. As with any good photo there will be provocation things you see and things you don t. When the visuals resonate but leave you wondering, you ve captured something special.
