2 SAFETY EYEWEAR Optileks safety eyewear catalogue aim to cover all the needs for eyewear protection with main focus on prescription eyewear or solutions that fits with prescription eyewear. The catalogue is made in cooperation with Bollé Safety, Norville Optical Group, 3M, Onguard industrial safety eyewear. How do we select the proper proctection? First is to identify and rank the hazards at the workplace to implement the relevant protection. It is essential to check adequacey between product markings and standards. All prescription safety lenses are produced according to Directive 89/686/ECC: EN166, ISO8980-1, IS8980-2, ISO Mechanical Risk A mechanical risk is identified as shocks, flying chips or solid particles. The mechanical risk mainly occurs during machining operation when sharp-edged particles or those with high kinetic energy are projected. Example: metal chips, shards or particles comming from tools etc. Protection against mechanical risk is done by safety spectacles, safety googles and safety faceshields. The electrical risk is defined as electrial contact, shortcircuit electrical arc. EN 166 Protector Type Protection against electrical risk is done by safety faceshields. FRAME LENS SPECTACLES GOGGLES FACESHEILDS Thermal Risk Termal risks occurs when hot solids or liquids are splashed or intense heat radiation is emmitted. The thermal risk is defined as splashes of hot liquids, intense heat radiation. Protection against thermal risk is done by safety googles and safety faceshields. 3 Chemical and Biolological Risks The chemical risk occurs when a substance projected or present in the environment reacts with the componenets of the eye or the skin. This risk is particularly present in the medical field, the agri-food industry or in waste management, where micro-organisms are likely to contaminate individuals. The chemical risk is defined as projections of hazardous liquids, toxic dust, gas, toxic vapours. Protection against thermal risk is done by safety googles and safety faceshields. Risks linked to Optical Radiation Optical radtiation is present in many activities in industrial, medical or commercial fields. Welding, steel works and surgical processes are all concerned. Overexposure of the eyes to hight intenstiy courses can cause burns and lesions of the eye. 5 Lens Solutions Progressive Individual: Progressive Individual is an allround progressive lens that takes all frame parameters into account and creates a unique lens for each prescription. The lens will have wearer compensated powers and is produced by digital freeform technology. Thanks to our long experience of sportsframes we have no problem to handle wrap frames(base 8) like Bollé Contour RX. Minimum fitting height is 14mm. Minimum frame height 24mm Progressive Room: Room is a work progressive lens serie in 3 versions. The lens is produced by digital freeform technology. Availible versions: Room Near: is a work lens designed for optimal viewing from 40cm to approx cm, depending on addition. The typical use is at desk in front of computers. Room Desk: is a work lens designed for optimal viewing from 40cm to approx m, depending on addition. The typical use is in a office where you mainly work at near but also need to be le to look in the room. Room Walk: is the typical lens for people that moves around a lot indoor and needs a lens that has wider mid and near zones. You can reach almost full distance power on top of the lens. The lens is not suitle for driving. Minimum fitting height is 16mm. Minimum frame height 26mm. PRESCRIPTION NOTES: FRAMES & LENS ES 1. Pricing shown for Prescription Safety, Office/VDU complete spectacles are within a range of +/ sphere with opposite cylinders up to 4.00 if else not noted. 2. Higher powered lenses are availle at an extra charge (see Supplementary Charges). 3. All Polycarbonate and Trivex lenses are supplied with an anti-scratch coating as standard. This coating can also be supplied with CR39 plastic lenses at an additional charge (see Sup ple men ta ry Charges). 4. Other lens types are availle in most safety prescriptions. Please contact us for a price offer. 5. A certificate of conformity is issued with each complete pair of Protective Spectacles being supplied. Two copies are produced, one should be kept by the Optician, the other should be kept by the end user or purchasing company. 6. Removal of side shields will immediately invalidate this certificate. 7. The certificate is valid for 24 months under normal wearing conditions. 8. Metal frames can be re-glazed at the end of this period with a further 24 months certification being issued dependent on the condition of the frame. 9.
