3 Exceptional print drivers: Unique color control Have you ever wanted an easy way to change specific colors of a printout? With Color By Words there is no need to go back to square one and manipulate source files. You simply select the desired color modifications from a drop-down list, and Color By Words will adjust your printout. Color corrections a graphic designer requires In addition to the Color By Words feature, the driver also includes an advanced selection of color corrections in addition to the standard options that have always been available in Xerox drivers. These straight forward settings help users target a specific color scheme, and there is a wide selection for matching the colors to the various types of displays, press output, and other various options. Fine color adjustments For even more precise control, the driver offers sliding bars to control Lightness, Contrast, Saturation, and the Color Cast. Xerox Color By Words driver settings Lexmark offers less options The Lexmark doesn t offer natural language color control or visual slider bars. There are fewer standard color correction options, and a limited number of options for fine tuning output.

4 Exceptional print drivers: Printer status The print driver presents users with six simple tabs, with the initial tab providing the majority of settings required for most print jobs. The Advanced tab provides a link to the printer s embedded web server, CentreWare IS. 1 This section of the driver shows supplies status, and it also provides links to more information and support. Users are instantly notified if the printer is in need of resources on every tab they re viewing, and if additional status is needed, it s only a click away. Superior watermark capability The print driver includes powerful watermark editing capability, including the use of images. This is a benefit for companies interested in putting their logo on printed output, as well as adding a professional edge to any collateral. The only allows text watermarks, limiting the use and functionality of this feature. 1 The Lexmark print driver also presents users with 6 different tabs, but settings aren t as organized as the driver. 5 Enhanced productivity with Print Around This shot of the printer s front panel shows two jobs in the print queue. The Print Around feature holds a job in need of resources (such as a special paper size) and prints the next job in the queue. Intuitive, easy-to-use color touch screen The features an easy-to-use color touch-screen interface with large icons and intuitive menu navigation. If a problem does occur, the screen shows embedded step-by-step trouble shooting videos. Although the does offer users a touch screen interface, it is not as user friendly. For example, users do not have visibility of supplies status with just a glance, nor are they provided visual paper status. In addition, if an issue does arise, embedded help videos do not automatically play to help resolve the problem. Never wait for a critical print job. Notice the error message on the interface of the. The printer is stalled since the correct paper is not found in the tray. No other subsequent jobs can print* unless either the correct paper is loaded or this job is cancelled. In a busy office, this can lead to bottlenecks and lost productivity. Xerox control panel * The printer does not have the optional hard drive installed; once installed, a user would have to know to manually activate Intelligent Job Waiting. Then, the printer would stall for 30 seconds; if nothing was resolved, the offending job would then be shuffled to held jobs and there is no more visibility in the job queue on the user interface.
