2 Obseer Transparency in a 2-d image is usually created as an illusion. Although it is possible to thin colors out to make them semi-transparent, Gouache is an opaque paint and a different method must be utilized.

3 Obseer As an objects becomes more and more transparent, the colors of those objects begin to merge to form mixtures. The hue of the mixtures follow the Color Wheel: Red + Yellow = Orange Blue + Yellow = Green Blue + Red = iolet Etc.

4 Obseer s follow Partitive color rules as they get more transparent: Transparent mixtures have a value that is a middle mixture of its parent color values. Correct Incorrect

6 Obseer Transparency effects are most readily seen in the atmosphere. The air aund you (atmosphere) has a color. The further into the distance you look the more of that colored air is obscuring your vision. This is easy to see on a foggy morning.

7 Obseer Aerial Perspective As objects move away in space they pick up more of the atmospheric hue. This is most often expressed as: s get cooler as they recede into space.
