1 Prestige Portraits RI Territory Imageflo Candids Solution Photographer Instructions The following are general guidelines for all Photojournalism assignments, as well as specific instructions for uploading images through Imageflo: Image Preparation Guidelines: Cameras need to be set to auto rotate or images must be rotated prior to the upload. If this is not done, the assignment will not be accepted. Jobs should be edited prior to submission. Please discard any blurry, overly overexposed or underexposed images, and also any images of an inappropriate nature (i.e. obscene hand gestures, wardrobe malfunctions, inappropriate body language, etc.). Please, do not crop your images. Jobs need to be uploaded within 24 hours of the event. Depending on the event/job, you should set your camera to the appropriate resolution. Due to variations in camera types, you may need to do some individual testing to achieve the desired file size. Candids Sports Action Sports Teams Small groups/clubs PANs, large groups and class pictures 3-4 MB and at least Please shoot as and submit JPEG and RAW files. Image Submission Guidelines: Sports: A minimum of 90 quality images per sporting event with a good amount of variety is required for a school. Note: If there is cross coverage, a minimum of 90 unique images are needed for each school. Below is a breakdown for fall sports. These numbers are based on the size of the team and the type of sports action it is: Golf* = 90 Minimum Tennis* = 90 Minimum Volleyball* = 90 Minimum Swimming * = 90 Minimum Cross Country* = 90 Minimum Cheerleading* = 90 Minimum

2 Football = 90 Minimum Soccer = 90 Minimum Field Hockey = 90 Minimum * These teams may not be very large so use common sense when photographing them. (Example: if it is a co-op swim team and there are only two swimmers, we don t need 90 images of those two swimmers.) Other Events: All other events should be covered to completion of the event. For most events there should be a minimum of 150 quality images, but common sense should be used (for example, a play should be a minimum of 150, but a National Honor Society induction may be a minimum of 75.) Summary: With all sports and other school events, it is always best to tell the story of the event. For sports, there should be shots of the sidelines, crowd, band, cheerleaders and the game. For plays, there should be backstage and performance shots. For pep rallies, there should be images of each class, games, students that are running the rally and the faculty. These images that you submit should tell the story. We are looking for good variety and quality for every event photographed. Please try not to go to the extreme. We don t need a thousand images of an event unless you are specifically asked to shoot that many or if it is a very large event. If you do find yourself photographing upwards of a thousand and you were not asked to, please edit the images down to your best shots. File Preparation: First, you must create a folder named with the Job Name on your computer for the images you are uploading. The folder naming structure is as follows: School Name-Event Name-Date-# of Images in the Folder-Your Last Name Example: Walpole High School Varsity Swimming shot on October 17 th with 98 images to submit, would look like this: WALPOLE-VSWIM BISHOP This helps ensure that the Photojournalism editors are able to properly identify the school and event, how many images we should receive via the upload, and by whom it was photographed. This helps speed up any action we may need to take for a job that may have issues. Also, please avoid using any special characters (i.e. &, =, etc.) in your folder names. Imageflo tends to ignore any special characters and prevents the job from showing up on our morning job lists. Dashes or hyphens are preferable.

3 Upload Instructions: Go to Imageflo: Log on: Username (First Initial with Last Name); Password (123456) this should be changed upon first sign in. Write your new one down we will not have it! If you need an account or forget your log in information, please contact Sherry Bishop at ext. 120 or send an to Once you are logged in, click on the UPLOAD MANAGER function (located in lower left section of the screen.) Next, click Browse in order to navigate to your job folder.

4 Select the folder that has the images for your job, click OK. Please note: It is important that you select a folder, not individual files Once selected, click the Upload button at the top of the window to begin the upload. Do not leave the page until the job completely uploads. You can open another window if you wish, but don t navigate away from this one until the job is complete.

5 If you need to upload another job when the first one is completed, click the CLEAR button at the top right. You will then be able to browse to the next folder and start a new upload.
