2 Prince Edward Island wordmark The following information provides general guidelines on configurations, colours and sizes of the Prince Edward Island word mark. The official wordmark for the provincial government is a combination of three elements, the words Prince Edward Island and Canada, an island with trees and an underscored wave. Associated typography is in ltc Giovanni. The size and space relationship of the type is critical. The elements have specific relationships to each other and should not be altered or modified in any way. The wordmark may be reproduced in either positive (black or colour) or reverse (white on a dark background). In either case, specifications will vary and considerations will be greatly influenced by the background over which the word mark is used. The Prince Edward Island wordmark is a registered trademark of the government of Prince Edward Island and may not be copied, reproduced, altered or distributed for use or otherwise used in whole or in part in any manner without the government s written permission. The wordmark may be either black, green or in twocolours:green, (PMS 335*, CMYK C-100, M-0, Y-65, K-30t) for the words Prince Edward Island and Canada; and blue, (PMS 300*, CMYK C-100, M-43, Y-0, K-O ) for the wave. This approach is recommended when using the wordmark on a strong coloured or dark background. Many Island retailers carry a line of recycled paint products, often available at a lower cost than conventional paints. Islanders consume approximately one million litres of paint annually. The Department of Environment, Labour and Justice approved a paint industry stewardship plan several years ago. Good quality paint suitable for reuse is also being donated to Habitat for Humanity. Besides the obvious benefits of safely disposing of unwanted paint products, the program is also achieving some significant financial benefits. The program results in savings to the Island Waste Management Corporation of approximately $200,000 annually. The clutter of old paint cans could soon be a thing of the past. These are typical examples of common errors in reproduction, or misuse of the Wordmark that must be avoided at all times.
