There are a variety of switching options for patient ease-of-use. From its soft form to its antimicrobial finish, ERAcare is designed to compliment infectious control efforts. The recommended illumination levels for examination are met. As an option, a set of integrated LED chart/night lights are located at either end of the luminaire. Healthcare staff can conveniently operate these low level lights from both sides of the patient bed. ERAcare meets the most stringent illumination recommendations for exam and reading functions. The positive snap-in lenses provide tool-less lamp replacement. A removable ballast tray provides convenient access to key electrical components. ERAcare is available in four standard finishes all with an antimicrobial additive to inhibit the growth of microbes for the life of the product. 10 P ro d u c t S p e c i f i c a t i o n s Luminaire Construction The exterior housing consists of an extruded aluminum body and die cast end caps. The back plate and ballast tray are formed from 18 gauge galvanized steel. Finish ERAcare can be specified in one of four standard polyester powder-coat paint finishes white, taupe, aluminum or almond. Custom finishes are available upon request. A color chip, to match, needs to be provided by the customer. All standard finishes have an antimicrobial additive to inhibit the growth of microbes. Reflectors ERAcare has four separate and unique reflectors roll-formed from specular aluminum. Lens The top ambient lens (top surface) and the front exam lens are both extruded acrylic with DR additive for flexibility over the life of the product. The bottom exam/reading lens is extruded from acrylic. Internal linear prisms help maintain a smooth exterior surface. Removable extruded aluminum socket covers are provided at the ends of each aperture opening to conceal the lamp socket and to create a more uniform appearance across the illuminated lens surface. Lamps ERAcare can be specified with either F54 T5HO, F28 T5 or F32 T8 linear fluorescent lamps. Philips Alto, low mercury lamps are supplied with the luminaire. 3500K is the standard color temperature but alternative color temperatures can be specified. ECO-FRIENDLY Switching The standard switching configuration is an on/off pull cord for the reading compartment with the ambient and exam compartments controlled from a remote wall switch (by others). An optional 4-position pull cord switch (HDS) for sequential control of the ambient and reading compartments is available. The exam function is controlled from a remote wall switch. Pull switches are supplied with a plastic pull cord that is latexfree, stain-resistant, and easy to clean with standard disinfectant. An optional low voltage relay (LVC), that is compatible with industry standard bed control systems (by others), can be field wired for either separate or sequential switching of the ambient and reading compartments. ERAcare can also be specified less switch (LS) with remote switching (by others) controlling all functions. Electrical Electronic high power factor ballasts, rated for 120 and 277 volts, are used. 347 volt ballasts available for T8 lamps only. Ballasts are thermally protected and have a Class A sound rating. T5 and T5HO ballasts have end-of-life protection. Listing UL and CUL Listed. ERAcare is also IBEW labeled. Agion antimicrobial has been listed with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), certified by the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF) and registered with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). Installation The back plate is mounted over the electrical junction box or to electrical wiring whip and secured to the wall structure. The housing hooks onto the back plate and is secured with two screws. Lamp replacement is performed by removing the lens and one socket cover. Warranty Limited lifetime warranty on materials and workmanship. Standard manufacturers warranty applies on lamps and ballasts. 1 0
