29 hook Christian Hook was named as Sky Arts Portrait Artist of the Year The final was held at the National Portrait Gallery in London and was the culmination of a 10 month search for the most talented portrait artist in the UK and Ireland. Christian won with a portfolio of work completed throughout the series including Mick Hucknall and Fabrice Muamba. He has since created acclaimed portraits of actress Sue Johnston, and one of his works has been selected by Sir John Leighton, Director-General of the National Galleries of Scotland for his top 100 masterpieces from over 100,000 pieces in the collection.

68 blake Sir Peter Blake was a pioneering figures in the world of pop art and urban realism. Often described the godfather of British Pop Art, he is best known for the iconic album cover he produced for the Beatles Sgt. Pepper s Lonely Hearts Club Band. Blake won the Leverhulme Research Award to study popular art in the 1950s and travelled in Holland, Belgium, France, Italy and Spain. Influenced by American realist painters, he exhibited at the R.A. in 1954 and 1955 and went on to win an array of prizes and accolades. Several of his pieces are on show in Tate Modern, and he continues to be one of our most successful, popular and acclaimed artists.
