But even the wallpaper masking tape should not immediately fall off the wall neither. Decisive for the performance of an adhesive tape is the combination of adhesion and tack (cohesion) of the adhesive used. The adhesion shows to what extent the molecules of the adhesive bond with the molecules of the underground surface. Cohesion means the bonding of the molecules of the adhesive bond. A low cohesion is necessary for easy removal of the tape off the underground surface without leaving residues.
