14 Decorating Products Methylated Spirits Boiled Linseed Oil Used for thinning french polishes and shellac varnishes, for use in spirit burning heaters, stoves and for lighting barbecues. Cleans mirrors, glass and jewellery. Sizes: 250ml, 500ml, 4L Boiled Linseed Oil is used for finishing most bare timber and suitable for replacing the natural sheen that wood can lose after long periods drying in the sun. Boiled Linseed Oil contains special additives which speed the drying process. Will also waterproof ground sheets and tarpaulins. Sizes: 125ml, 300ml, 500ml, 2L, 4L, 25L Pure Turpentine Raw Linseed Oil Used for mixing artists oil colours. Ideal for dissolving beeswax to make a wax polish. Sandpaper surface smooth before applying liberally over knots and surrounding area. Do not sandpaper knotting once applied. Resinous and creosoted timber should be sealed completely with 2 coats. Allow 1 hour to dry before priming. Clean brushes with methylated spirits. Knotting should not be used under polyurethane clear varnishes or water-based varnishes and paints. Knotting Sizes: 125ml, 300ml, 500ml, 1L, 4L White Knotting Sizes: 125ml, 300ml, 1L Paint Driers (Terebene) Xylene Thinners A special blend of chemicals to speed the drying of oil and alkyd based paints and varnishes. Particularly recommended for adding to old paint and varnish that has been kept for a long time, and has become slow drying. Add a capful of driers to 1 2 litre of paint or varnish and stir well. Rustins Sugar Soap is concentrated and 500ml makes up to 13 litres of full strength solution. DIRECTIONS FOR USE Preparation: Shake bottle well before use. Wear suitable protective gloves. Protect floor coverings and fabrics from spillage. Application: Cleaning and preparing for repainting: Add 170ml of Rustins Sugar Soap to litres of warm water in a large bucket and stir. Soak a sponge or cloth in the solution and clean surface well. Sand down any uneven spots. Rinse with fresh clean water and allow to dry thoroughly. Mop up any spillages immediately with a damp cloth. For use as a general household cleaner: Add 50ml of Rustins Sugar Soap to litres of warm water in a large bucket and stir.
