1 Information Sheet for activities with our Dutch colleagues in 2010 Painting, sculpting, carving, photography etc in Tuscany in 2010 The location: The Dutch medical society of art by the name of Pincet en Penseel (P&P) cordially invites you to join in a week of painting and other artistic activities in Tuscany 5-12 September The location is the agriturismo Sant'Anna in Camprena ( P&P is highly satisfied with this place, a former Benedictine monastery situated near the famous little town of Pienza. The monastery has been renovated and the former monks' cells have been turned into suitable bedrooms. There are bathrooms (toilets and showers) for every two to three rooms. Despite a degree of austerity we found the accommodation very satisfactory but issue the warning that one should not expect a luxury hotel. The food is very good. Sant'Anna in Camprena is most suitable for groups who are engaged in artistic or cultural activities. The location is beautiful and has plenty of atmosphere. The big garden is suitable for all kinds of artistic activities such as painting, or sculpting and there is a big barn or stable like room where one can work in case the weather is unkind. The beautiful countryside invites to outdoor painting. See photographs in and Incidentally, the film The English Patient was partly shot in San'Anna in Camprena. Invitation: Every colleague and his or her partner or other beloved one is welcome to join. This is not a course but if you are beginner, then there is always an experienced person around who is willing to advise. There is no formal programme but usually in the morning and afternoon we work alone or in a group in the garden or any other suitable place, or we take the car to find a nice spot to paint the scenery or a picturesque village or townscape. We also make small touristic trips to nearby culturally or scenically interesting places. By the end of the afternoon we meet for drinks. During and after dinner we discuss our achievements of the day and we disclose to each other the secrets of the beautiful views and spots we have discovered. On the last evening we have an exhibition of our artistic products. Costs The prices on a half board (breakfast and diner) basis are: Double room per person Euro p.p.p.d. Double room single use Euro p.p.p.d. The rooms are the old cells of the monastery. There is 1 bathroom (shower, toilet) per 2-3 rooms. Travelling Travelling to Sant'Anna in Camprena is best by plane to Rome or Pisa and from there by car. For convenience, we usually travel as a group and book tickets and cars as a group, but one can also go there all the way by car or make one's own travel arrangements. One may also decide to spend a few days before of after the painting week in Rome, Florence or another Tuscan or Umbrian town. Contact us in case you wish to join in our travel plans. Registration If you wish to participate in the painting week in Tuscany, please fill in the registration form and send it to the address mentioned at the bottom. To avoid disappointment, do not delay

2 your decision to participate until the last moment because by then the place may be fully booked. Do not send forms to Sant'Anna in Camprena, as this agriturismo only accepts group bookings, not individual bookings. Wiepko Terpstra will collect all forms and will book for the whole group at the same time. So please send the form to him. He will also inform when to pay the deposit into his account. Usually the deposits are paid in to the account of Sant'Anna in Camprena by June. Cancellations after this payment has been made will not result in refunding. Full payment are made by August. 4 Painting, sculpting, photography etc in Zeeland May 2010 The Dutch medical society of art ''Pincet en Penseel'' invites you to join in our painting days in Zeeland. The painting days, actually a long weekend, will be held in hotel Green White in Oostkapelle from Thursday 27 May (arrival in the afternoon) till Monday 31 May (departure in the morning). Oostkapelle is situated on the former island of Walcheren in the province of Zeeland. You have the choice between a room in the mansion and so-called pond rooms in the park a very short distance from the mansion.the staff is most painter-friendly, accommodating to our needs and wishes. The hotel is situated in a nice park with picturesque corners, some of which have slightly run wild. The polders, the sea and the dunes are very nearby (in cycling distance), all suffused by the famous Zeeland light. Might you be interested to get an idea of the painting days and to get a feeling of the atmosphere, you may look at pictures on Please find below a registration form. Usually there is plenty of interest for the painting days and the hotel is soon fully booked.
