Only 100% Natural Fiber Products will be accepted. (Socks may contain up to 25% nylon). 4. Fiber content must be specified on each entry when delivering your entries. 5. Any fiber techniques can be used, such as weaving, spinning, felting, knitting, crocheting, etc. 6. All non-fleece entries must be the work of the Exhibitor and completed within one year of the fair.
2 7. All Fleece entries must be from an animal owned by the Exhibitor 60 days prior to the Fair. 8. NO FLEECES WILL BE SOLD AT THE FAIR! 9. Other Spinners Challenge Fiber for 2018 SURI ALPACA Spinners Challenge consists of fiber spun from Suri Alpaca and displayed as a finished item (not just spun fiber). Fiber content used must be stated on a hanging tag on the exhibit. All entries must be shown & judged in a regular class in the Natural Fiber department. * Please notify the Superintendent on entry day that item is a Spinners Challenge. Selection of the winner will be made with strong consideration given to creativity, quality of spinning, suitability of yarn to the final project and overall quality of the work. Use of Suri Alpaca must be at least 50% of the fiber content. Age Classes: Adult: 18 and older; Junior: 12 to 17 years; Children 5 to 11 years. 3. All photo entries must be the work of the Exhibitor. 4. All photos must have been taken in the last 3 years. 5. Photographs are judged on: a) Clean print, no printer lines, dirt or date b) Focus c) Clarity d) Impact e) Difficulty 6. ENTER THE CORRECT LOT. For example: If you ve already entered Domestic Animals you cannot enter a milk cow in the Wild Animal lot. It will be disqualified. 7. Photos must be 8x10 or 8x Mat is optional, but if used must be 11x Mounting board (Required) must be 11x14. Mounting board may be mat or illustration board or foam core. 10. Secure your photo, mat, and mounting board with ATG a high-tack double sided tape. DO NOT USE double sided office tape or scrapbooking dots. They can NOT hold the weight of a mat board.
4 11. Clearly print your name and phone number on the back of each photo. 12. Maximum 6 entries per person total. 13. Maximum 1 entry per lot per person. 14. If you need help local framers have fair specials, supplies, and advice. You could also look up matting and/or mounting photos on YouTube. 15. Lot 10 Group of Photos: Photos must be 4x6 or 5x7. Mat is optional Mounting Board (required) must be no larger than 16x NO PHOTOS WITH SHRINK-WRAP, FRAMES, OR GLASS WILL BE ACCEPTED. 17. Attach the tag string on the back so they hang over the upper left corner on the front. Examples will be on display at check in. 18. Detach and retain your claim tag stub from the bottom of your tag. You need this to pick up your photos after the fair. Class A - Adult: 18 and older Non-manipulated, Color, Film or Digital Definition of Non-manipulated: Photos shot in RAW, HDR, and JPEG. Photos may be cropped, straightened, zoomed in, corrected for exposure and color, and / or dodged or burned to correct exposure. Only UV or Polarized filters are accepted. Class B - Adult: 18 and older Manipulated, Color or B&W, film or digital. Definition of manipulated or enhanced: Photos shot in RAW, HDR, and JPEG. Go crazy, merge parts of photos, make it look like a painting, put his head on her body - Photoshop the heck out of it! Pretty much anything goes. If your only manipulation is converting from color to black and white we suggest entering Class C. Your original photo(s) MUST be included with your entry. Original photo will be displayed alongside your manipulated entry. Original photo can be no smaller than 4x6 and no larger than 8x12. Mats are optional. Mounting (required) up to 11x14. Abstract Abstract uses shape, form, color and line to create a composition which may exist with a degree of independence from visual references in the world. Meaning: you may not be able to recognize it for what it is. So, if it is a cow and it looks like cow it does not belong in abstract. 2. Architecture Whole or part of a building. 3. Baby (3 years & under) Otherwise Playing, running, etc. Baby Portraits belong in 4 4. Baby (3 years &under) Portraiture A portrait is a representation of a person, in which the face and its expression is predominant. 5. Birds Yes, chickens are birds but they belong in Domestic Animal 2 6. Cityscape The urban equivalent of a landscape. See the definition in Lot No Close-up Otherwise Not flowers. Macro A photo that reveals details which can NOT be seen by the naked eye. 13. Night 14. Other Any photo that s subject does not fall under one of the 25 offered topics. 15. Phenomenon in Nature Anything which manifests itself. Phenomena are often, but not always, understood as "things that appear" 16. Photojournalism An image that tells a story or is news worthy. 17. People (and/or Children) Otherwise Groups, gathering, working, playing, etc. 18. People (and/or Children) Portraiture Artistic representation of a person, in which the face and its expression is predominant. 19. People (and/or Children) with Pets 20.
