Items entered must be made by an amateur exhibitor (1. an amateur exhibitor is someone who engages in an activity as a pastime rather than a profession. 2. Professionals are those who receive all or part of their income from their craft/skill, including teaching/instruction of the same). Entries will be in the proper class, new, finished, clean. Not previously entered in the Hancock County Fair. Exhibitors are limited to two (2) items per class. All pictures and artwork must be finished products, which includes glass, frame (if necessary for it to be a finished product), and eyelets with wire for hanging. All ceramics must be fired, bottoms and backs finished, and insides glazed. All items are entered and displayed at the exhibitor s risk. Entries are subject to the above rules or will be disqualified. The judge s decision is final. Release of items will be 6:00 p.m. the last day of the fair. Entry stub tags needs to be presented to claim items. The superintendent and assistants are responsible for acceptance, display, and releasing of all entries. Blankets will be judged on ability to follow instructions, workmanship and choice of fabric. All blankets will be distributed by Cancer Patient Services to cancer patients in Hancock County after the fair. Entries must be new, finished and clean. NO entries will be released to exhibitors after the fair. NO ENTRY FEE Sponsored by EAS Signs Premiums: $ Children 12 years and under 02 Children years 03 Adults Supplies: 2 pieces of 1 1/2 yard fleece fabric Sewings Shears 4 Safety Pins Seam guage or tape measure Instructions: 1. Cut the ends off the side of the fabric. There is usually an end of the fabric that has writing on it or has little holes in it. 2. Line up the two fabrics, RIGHT SIDES OUT. 3. Saftey pin the corners together about 6 inches in from each corner. 4. Cut a 4x4 inch square out of each cornerof fabric. From the remnant, cut a strip that is 4 inches long and 1 1/4 inch wide. This piece will be your guide for cutting the fringe strips that you will knot together. 5. Cut fringe strips on all four sidesof the blanket, cutting through both layers of fabric at the same time. Use your guide piece to help you cut all fringe the same size. We support the Hancock 6. Begin tying the knots. You will tie knots in each piece of fringe twice. Knot right over left, then right over left again. Make sure to knot tightly and don t pull the fleece too much. Knot all four sides. 7. Remove the safety pins. Pull the fleece to make the blanket square
