3 Use 1/4 seams and press as arrows indicate throughout. Butterfly Block: Assemble one Fabric B strip and one Fabric C strip. Butterfly Wing Strip Set should measure 10" x 21". Make four. Assemble one Fabric A Strip and one Fabric D strip. Butterfly Body Strip Set should measure 10" x 21". A B D C Make four. Line up the A1 line on the Starburst Ruler with the seam on the Butterfly Wing Strip Set. Cut one A1 Wing Unit from each strip set. Line up the B1 line on the Starburst Ruler with the seam on the Butterfly Wing Strip Set. Line up the A2 line on the Starburst Ruler with the seam on the Butterfly Body Strip Set. Cut one A2 Body Unit from each strip set. Line up the B2 line on the Starburst Ruler with the seam on the Butterfly Body Strip Set. Cut one B2 Body Units from each strip set. Cut one B1 Wing Unit from each strip set. A1 B1 Make four A1 Wing Units. Make four B1 Wing Units. A2 B2 Make two A2 Body Units. Make two B2 Body Units. 3 of 6

4 Assemble one A2 Body Unit, one B1 Wing Unit and one A1 Wing Unit. Make one Top Left Butterfly Unit. Pillow Center: Assemble the Pillow Center. Assemble one B2 Body Unit, one A1 Wing Unit and one B1 Wing Unit. Make one Top Right Butterfly Unit. Assemble one B1 Wing Unit, one A1 Wing Unit and one B2 Body Unit. Make one Bottom Left Butterfly Unit. Trim the Pillow Center to measure 12 1/2 x 12 1/ /2 Ruler Assemble one A1 Wing Unit, one Unit B1 Wing Unit and one A2 Body Unit. Make one Bottom Right Butterfly Unit. 4 of 6

5 Attach side borders using the Fabric E rectangles. Attach top and bottom borders using the Fabric F rectangles. Pillow Top should measure 14 1/2 x 14 1/2. F Pillow Top: Layer Pillow Top, Batting and Muslin. Quilt Pillow Top as desired. Baste 1/8 around outside edges of the Pillow Top. Trim excess Batting and Muslin. E E F Butterfly Antenna Embroidery: To add the antenna to the Pillow Top, use the template below. Use three strands of embroidery floss and a backstitch. Batting Muslin Pillow Back: With wrong sides facing, fold one Fabric H rectangle in half. Folded Fabric H Unit should measure 9 x 14 1/ /2 H Fold 5 of 6

6 Pillow Assembly: Layer two Folded Fabric H Units and overlap them 3 1/2 with folds in the center and raw edges on the outside. Pin around the edges. Baste 1/8 around the edges of the Pillow Back. Pillow Back should measure 14 1/2 x 14 1/2. 3 1/2 overlap Mark the center of the Pillow Top and mark the center of the Pillow Back. Matching centers, layer the Pillow Top right side up on the Pillow Back. Baste 1/8 around the edges to hold the Pillow Top and Pillow Back together. Trim the excess backing. Finishing: Piece the Fabric G strips end to end for binding. Quilt and bind as desired. 6 of 6
