Our designs are based on the beautiful artwork of Michael Powell. His love of buildings and architecture are the main inspiration for his work, normally created in pen and ink and watercolour. Michael is an artist with a unique style that translates brilliantly into needlework, whether it is cross-stitch or needlepoint/tapestry. The watercolour palette is replaced with the vast range of cotton or wool and the resulting designs take on a new, fantastic vibrancy of their own. Our designs cater for everyone from the most experienced stitcher to the beginner. The charts and instructions are clear and very easy to understand and kits all come with a separate back stitch chart. The materials are of the best quality, including Zweigart fabric in either 14 count Aida or 27 count even weave, and Anchor stranded cotton. The tapestry kits contain Zweigart printed fabric and Appletons Tapestry wools. Well what has Michael been up to Michael has added several new designs to the Mini Kits range. There is a new range called Little Gems a beautiful range of cross stitch designs that use brief sentimental quotes and highlighted with beads. There is a new range of Bookmark kits and a large design called Harbour Town (Tenby). Michael s range of cross stitch kits are now well established in the market place, offering stitchers something very different and the opportunity to create a piece of art of their very own.
