2 Key expertise of EMT The key expertise in research and education is related to technological developments for capturing, transmitting, and playing back audiovisual content in future media systems. research activities focus on generation of spatiality and threedimensionality for multimedia systems. enhancement of the concept Quality of Experience in spatial multimedia systems. The outcome of our work is part of research projects into simulation and evaluation of acoustic environments, spatial coding of microphone array signals, and perceptional optimized and adaptable audio systems in the context of use Page 2
3 Key expertise of EMT A special focus and research interest of our work lies in development of systems from the users point of view, following the ideas of user-centric system engineering and its quality evaluations. Users participate actively in our projects by participating in user studies, in which we apply modern evaluation methods targeting users' needs and expectation or quality perception of critical system components Page 3
