The learner can: 1.1 Compare the methods that can be used to illustrate and communicate ideas for enamelling designs. 1.2 Critically compare the advanced etching techniques employed by the jewellery and silverware manufacturing industry. 2 Understand how to apply advanced enamelling techniques. 2.1 Describe the relevant enamelling requirements of a particular design. 2.2 Explain the appropriate fabrication process for a particular design. 2.3 Describe the specific hazards associated with enamelling procedures. 2.4 Describe how to prepare tools for cutting and carving including: setting up the gravers adjusting the length to suit the individuals hand size mounting the handles 2.5 Describe the finishing processes for both enamel and metal. 2.6 Describe the finishing processes for both enamel and metal. 2.7 Describe how matt and shiny finishes can be achieved. 2.8 Describe how to produce multiples of a particular design. 2.9 Compare the range of techniques can be used to assist with producing multiple designs.
