4 The Research and Development History of Zirconia Ceramics Material Zirconium is a naturally existing mineral discovered by Martin Klaproth in In 1937, partially-stabilized Zirconia was discovered. Then, in the 1960 s, the artificial Cubic Zirconia was successfully created in France. Since the discovery of a fracture formation mechanism by Australian scientist, R.C. 7 The features of the Cercon ZirBra material 1 Durability equal to Metal The Cercon ZirBra material durability in bending strength is 1,200MPaand the modulus of elasticity is 200Pa. The data proves that the material has almost the same durability to metal. Additionally, it is well known that the oxidized zirconium has very high biocompatibility and Cercon ZirBra is very suitable for a long term intraoral stay without bracket damage and break. 10 More than decades, a lot of orthodontists and the doctors at the dental colleges have been the Clear Bracket users. High esthetical appearance and very "adhesive" transparent composite body. A special composite body brings you such a high esthetical appearance and durability. Also, the material is softer than the teeth and any damages to the antagonists and the risk of debonding damage to the enamel are remarkably reduced. Well compatible to many bonding materials due to the mechanical base. The mechanical base design is adopted to the most of the chemical and light cured bonding materials. The special press bending power slot The slot is designed to prevent distortion of the bracket or opening of the slot due to the torque of the wire. 16 Just putting on the Clear Snap, the free friction treatment happens. Just put the Clear Snap to ZirBra or Clear Bracket, doctors can perform the low friction treatment at anytime they need. Esthetical appearance. Putting the Clear Snap over the bracket may hide the wire outstands. Also, it is easier for the patient to keep oral hygiene. No need to replace the brackets due to the Snap broken. The Clear Snap and the Clear Bracket are totally separated thus, even if the Snap broken, you do not need to replace the bracket. Just replace the snap. We also have Clear Snap with hook for sliding cuspid distal movement. For those dentists who prefer the metal brackets for the premolars, we prepared the Clear Snap for the premolars. These are available for both maxilla and mandible. 14

17 To attach How to use To detach Hold the Clear Snap with pliers. Hang it on the wing on the cervical side. Cut the vertical bar on the slot. Be careful not to apply such excessive force as to open the slot. Cutting while absorbing with vacuum, the Clear Snap cut can be collected easily. Hang it on the wing on the inciscal side pushing against the tooth surface. The Clear Button is designed to attach those teeth to which the Clear Bracket cannot be installed. There is a round hole and the wires such as.010,.012 and.014 may equipped. Turn and remove the home base. 15

26 In order to widely cover the function and the esthetical aspects of the wires, we, DENTSPLY prepare stainless, Ni-Ti, and titanium materials. Specially, the gold color plated wires receive good reputations from both the doctors and the patients for its appearance. All the wires are manufactured at our facility in Japan and the 35cm straight wires and the pre-formed wires are available. *The Tyniloy wire and the ß-Titanium wires carry only the preformed wire and have no straight wire variation. SUS wire We prepare the 35cm straight wire and the pre-formed wire. The pre-formed wire is based on a typical Japanese teeth alignment. Each individual pre-formed wire is packed for safety.
