3 FRONT OFFICE ACES BALLPARK 2010 ACES Stuart Katzoff is president and managing partner of Manhattan Capital LLC, a holding company based in New York City involved in real estate development, investment management and professional sports ownership. The company is currently developing several residential, commercial and retail projects. Mr. Katzoff spearheaded the relocation of the Tucson Sidewinders, a Pacific Coast League Triple-A professional baseball franchise, to Reno, Nev., and led the construction of state-of-the-art Aces Ballpark. In their inaugural season, the Reno Aces drew more than 466,000 fans for the club s 72-game home schedule at Aces Ballpark. The facility has been widely recognized as one of the premier ballparks in all of Minor League Baseball. OPPONENTS In 2010, Mr. Katzoff and his partners constructed the Freight House District, a 365-day-a-year entertainment destination, located adjacent to Aces Ballpark. The Freight House District, a $100 million mixed-use development, currently includes four dining and nightlife ventures REVIEW Designated the master developer of downtown Reno, Mr. Katzoff was named by the Reno Gazette-Journal and the Reno Tahoe Young Professionals Network as a member of the Twenty Under 40 group in October The exclusive honor recognizes the city s premier business leaders under the age of 40. HISTORY Mr. Katzoff attended Tulane University. He earned a BA in Economics from Tulane, as well as a JD from Tulane University Law School. RECORDS In February 2009, Mr. Katzoff partnered with Jerry Katzoff and Herbert Simon to purchase the Reno Bighorns of the NBA Development League. 4 Herbert Simon is Chairman Emeritus of the Board of Indianapolis-based Simon Property Group, Inc., a member of the S&P 500. Mr. Simon was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., educated at City College of New York and earned a B.B.A. degree in business. His interests beyond real estate include ownership of the NBA franchise Indiana Pacers. He has served as Chairman of the NBA Board of Governors on which he continues to serve. A supporter of professional, environmental and community groups, Mr. Simon has served on the board of directors of numerous community and civic organizations. 5 FRONT OFFICE ACES BALLPARK In 2002, Mr. Katzoff and his son, Stuart, partnered with another experienced restaurateur to purchase the famous Il Mulino restaurant in New York and to expand the successful Il Mulino concept by opening Il Mulino branded restaurants and a retail product line. RECORDS They have successfully opened additional Il Mulino locations in Aspen, Atlanta, Atlantic City, Long Island, Chicago, Miami, Washington DC, Las Vegas, Tokyo, Orlando and Puerto Rico. Il Mulino products, foods and accessories are now successfully marketed through high-end specialty food stores and the Il Mulino company REVIEW He began his real estate development career with condominium conversions and co-established Philadelphiabased Dover Historic Properties real estate company where he served as president. Dover successfully focused on rehabilitating historic properties. The company made its mark turning historically certified buildings into viable residential, commercial and mixed-use developments. OPPONENTS Mr. Katzoff earned a law degree from Temple University School of Law and has served as Chairman and CEO of the companies he has owned ACES Through various companies, Jerry Katzoff has engaged in acquisition, development, construction, renovation and management of commercial real estate and resort properties for more than three decades. 6 Justin Piper is in his second season with the Reno Aces, and his first as Executive Vice President of Business Operations. Mr. Piper handles the day-to-day business operations for the Aces and the Reno Bighorns of the NBA Development League. Mr. Piper came to Reno after spending more than two years as corporate partnerships manager at Silicon Valley Sports & Entertainment, where he was responsible for new business development for the San Jose Sharks NHL team, HP Pavilion, SAP Open Tennis Tournament, Strikeforce MMA and other sports and entertainment properties. Mr. Piper also has previous experience in the Pacific Coast League, as he served as director of ticket sales for the Sacramento River Cats between 2003 and Prior to his career in professional sports, Mr. Piper was a Sr. Consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton where he specialized in process analysis and integrated management and technology solutions for the world s largest corporations and government agencies. Mr. Piper attended Boston College, where he earned a bachelor s degree in Operations and Strategic Management. Rick Parr is in his ninth season as the general manager of the Triple-A Affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. This marks his second-straight season in Reno, following seven years with the Tucson Sidewinders. The 2010 campaign marks Mr. Parr s 35th in professional baseball. He began his baseball career in 1975 with the Double-A El Paso Diablos. In El Paso, Mr. Parr worked under Jim Paul, who is credited as one of the first Minor League Baseball executives to adopt a fan-friendly approach to marketing professional baseball. Mr. Parr s career with the Diablos began as a seasonal employee in By 1979, he was appointed assistant general manager. In 1980, Mr. Parr took over as general manager, and in 1985 he was named president of the club. He joined the Tucson Sidewinders in 2002, and has been working with the Arizona Diamondbacks top affiliate ever since. Mr. Parr graduated with a Master s Degree from the University of Texas at El Paso, where he played defensive back for the Miners varsity football squad.
