1 A Fishing Fantasy Guide Services May Business of the Month A Fishing Fantasy Guide Services has been selected for the Chamber of Commerce s Business of the Month for May Captain Mike O'Dell is licensed through the U.S. Coast Guard and Texas Parks and Wildlife Department and has been professionally guiding fishing and hunting trips in the Texas Coastal Bend for over 10 years. A Fishing Fantasy Guide Service & Outfitters offers saltwater bay fishing and guided hunting from Corpus Christi Bay, Upper Laguna Madre, Nueces Bay, Redfish Bay, Aransas Bay, South Bay, Copano Bay, including Port Aransas, Aransas Pass, Rockport, Fulton and Lamar, Texas. After a brief presentation, Harbor City Slickers and Chamber Staff presented the award to Captain Mike. The Texas Coastal Bend is home to some of the best duck hunting around. They learned about the community s governmental agencies, the law enforcement and emergency services, economic development & the tourism industry, education system, community support groups and non-profits, they gained an insight to the history of Aransas Pass. They enhanced their personal and public leadership styles in the media and public speaking sessions. Guest speakers were Bill Haines, Chief Eric Blanchard, and Jon Green. Mr. Haines provided us with, The Official Texas Hurricane Guide, Coastal Bend Edition from Kiii-tv, which has lists on how to prepare for a hurricane, items to have in a hurricane supply kit, a tracking map, an evacuation route, and much more. Chief Blanchard spoke about, how to sign up to receive emergency notifications from the city of Aransas Pass to our smart phones. Mr. Green advises everyone to get flood insurance ahead of time, for the reason that it takes up to 30 days to process. He pointed out the importance to review your coverage with your insurance agency and to keep a detailed inventory of everything in your home and/or office. Luncheon was catered by Beauty and The Bistro.
