1 RAY BALENTINE Michael Baker International Ray Balentine is a Vice President and Office Executive for Michael Baker International, an international consulting engineering firm. In that role he heads their offices in Mississippi (Ridgeland and Ocean Springs) and Alabama (Mobile). Ray and his wife Cindy have lived in Madison since He is active, not only in his profession, but also in the community. He served as a coach for both their children in youth baseball, soccer, and basketball. Their adult children, Carrie and Will, also reside in Madison County and both are graduates of Canton Academy and Mississippi State University. While they were attending Canton Academy, Ray was a member of the Board of Directors and served as president during his tenure. Ray and his wife, Cindy, are active in their church, The Chapel of the Cross. Ray is a graduate of Mississippi State and Cindy graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi. They enjoy attending sporting events at both schools. Ray retired from the Mississippi Department of Transportation in 2007 and has worked in the private sector as a consulting engineer since that time. During his time with MDOT, he served as the State Planning Engineer and as the Director of Intermodal Transportation and Planning at his retirement. In that role, he worked closely with the Executive Director and the members of the Transportation Commission, including the current Transportation Commission Chairman, Dick Hall. He continues to work closely with Commissioner Hall and current Executive Director, Melinda McGrath, both as a consultant and as a supporter of increased transportation funding for state and local governments. In his role with Michael Baker, his firm works with clients from the federal, state, and local government levels, as well as a variety of private sector clients. Their practice includes transportation, environmental, site development, and construction projects. Michael Baker is a member of the Ridgeland Chamber of Commerce and the Madison County Business League and Foundation. Ray is the transportation committee chairman for the MCBL&F. 2 ED BOYINGTON L-3 Vertex Aerospace John Ed Boyington, was named President of L3 Vertex Aerospace in November He is responsible for successful execution of a complex portfolio of aviation programs with global reach across a broad customer base. Ed most recently served as President and CEO of TENAX Aerospace in Ridgeland, MS. He served as President of L3 Vertex from 2007 to From 2003 to 2007, he held other roles within L3, including Waco Site Executive, Vice President of Federal Programs and President of L3 Flight International, Newport News, VA. Ed retired from the U.S. Navy at the rank of Rear Admiral. His last assignment was Chief of Naval Air Training and Commander of Navy Region South. 3 JOHN BRUNINI Butler Snow John Brunini is a partner with the Butler Snow law firm and practices in the firm s Ridgeland, Mississippi office. John graduated from Millsaps College with a B.A. in 1996 and from Wake Forest University Law School with a J.D. in John is married to Angela Brunini and they have four children Anna Katherine Brunini (20), Alex Brunini (15), William Brunini (11) and Jack Brunini (8). After graduating from law school, John returned to Mississippi, settling in Madison, and has lived in the City of Madison since May, Currently, John and his family live in Reunion and attend St. Joseph s Catholic Church in Gluckstadt. John s parents, Ed and Barbara Brunini, are retired and live at Annandale in the city of Madison. John practice focuses almost exclusively on environmental, energy, and natural resources law. He regularly represents clients engaging in industrial, manufacturing and land use activities that require environmental permitting and compliance expertise. He regularly appears and represents clients before the Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality, the United States Environmental Protection Agency, the United States Army Corps of Engineers, and state and federal courts in Mississippi and Louisiana. 4 MIKE CRANDALL Trustmark Michael Crandall is the Canton Community President for Trustmark National Bank, Canton, MS. Mike began his banking career in Madison County in He earned his BSBA from the University of Southern Mississippi and his MBA from Mississippi College. Mike is a graduate of the ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking at the University of Delaware, ABA Commercial Lending School and the ABA School of Retail Banking at the University of Oklahoma. Crandall is a 1991 Graduate of the Mississippi Economic Council Leadership Mississippi. Crandall is a past President of the USM Metro Alumni Chapter. Mike believes it is a responsibility to give back to the community, through time, treasure and talents. He currently serves as the President of the City of Canton Chamber of Commerce and President of the Canton Public Schools Educational Foundation. In addition Crandall has served on the board of Our Daily Bread and as a Past President for the Madison Square Center for the Arts. Crandall serves on the Education and the Government Relations Committee with the Madison County Business League and Foundation. Crandall has been heavily involved in youth activities in Madison County serving as a youth soccer coach for the South Madison County Soccer Organization and youth baseball coach for the Madison Ridgeland Youth league. He served on the PTO board and President of Madison Avenue Upper Elementary and on the St. Joseph Catholic School Advisory Board and as its President. While at St. Joseph Mike was also President of the St. Joe Booster Club. Crandall was also involved as a board member of the Assisi Early Learning Center. Outside of Madison County, Crandall is involved with the Catholic Charities Advisory Board as chair of the finance committee and is the incoming President of this organization. He also serves as Treasurer for the Mississippi Track Club and can be found most Saturday mornings volunteering for this organization at local charity races. Mike and his wife, Susan, are Charter members of St. Francis Catholic Church. Crandall has been active in church affairs and served on the Church s Finance Council, Advisory Council and as Past Grand Knight for the St, Francis Knights of Columbus Council. 5 JOHN GEARY Copeland Cook Taylor & Bush John Geary and his family have lived in Madison for years.
