3 TERRY KROEGER President and CEO, BH Media Group and Publisher, Omaha World-Herald Terry Kroeger is the President and Chief Executive Officer of BH Media Group, a subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway. Mr. Kroeger is also the Publisher of The Omaha World-Herald, Nebraska s largest daily newspaper. Mr. Kroeger is a native of Omaha and a graduate of the University of Nebraska, with a degree in finance and economics. He has been with the Omaha World-Herald Company for over 30 years, starting as assistant purchasing agent and property manager in From he was a Business Manager at the Company owned Kearney Hub. In 1991, he was named Director of Community Newspaper Operations. From , he served as publisher of The Record in Stockton, California. He was named vice president of the Omaha World-Herald Company and joined its board of directors in In 1999, he returned to Omaha to lead the construction of The World-Herald s Freedom Center production facility. He became president and chief operating officer of the Company in 2005, becoming Chief Executive Officer in Mr. Kroeger serves on the Board of Directors of Westside Community Schools Foundation, Omaha Symphony, Creighton University, Children s Scholarship Fund of Omaha, the United Way of the Midlands, the Greater Omaha Chamber, NAA and AP. He is a Governor of Knights of Ak-Sar-Ben and serves on the Strategic Command Consultation Committee. Mr. Kroeger and his wife, Jackie, have four children three daughters, Molly, Maggie and Ellie and one son, Jake. PANELIST

4 HEIDI MAUSBACH President and CEO, Ervin & Smith Heidi Mausbach is a business and marketing strategist with more than 20 years of experience working with local companies and Fortune 500 brands. As President and CEO of Ervin & Smith, Mausbach guides the agency s best places to work culture, oversees all strategic initiatives and sets the vision for the agency s future. Her many contributions were instrumental in the agency recently being named a Top 10 Best Places to Work by Ad Age, a Top Company Culture by Entrepreneur Magazine and one of Inc. magazine s 5,000 Fastest-Growing Privately Owned Companies. Mausbach has been recognized as one of 2015 s Ten Outstanding Young Omahans and is a past recipient of the Midlands Business Journal 40 Under 40 award. PANELIST

5 TOMMY WARREN President and CEO, Urban League of Nebraska Thomas H. Warren, Sr. is President and Chief Executive Officer of the Urban League of Nebraska, a role he assumed in January Warren graduated from Morningside College, in Sioux City, Iowa, in 1983 and joined the Omaha Police Department during the same year. He earned a Bachelors of Science Degree in Criminal Justice, with a second major in Sociology and a minor in Psychology. He obtained a Masters of Science Degree from the University of Nebraska Omaha in 1989, with a major in Criminal Justice andan option in PublicAdministration. PANELIST

6 BLINDSPOTS The psychological tendencies that blind us to right decision and right action. CONFORMITY BIAS Falling into the trap of doing what others are doing, thinking what others are thinking, and thinking that this conformity is appropriate, right, and good. GAMING We seek reward without taking the hard road to achieve that reward. We try to game the system because we are results-driven, so we find ways to maximize payoff while minimizing effort. MORAL MYOPIA We have moral blinders on; sometimes we aren t even aware when there is an ethical aspect to a situation. Since we are goal oriented, we miss red flags or purposefully overlook them. OBEDIENCE TO AUTHORITY We seem to be hardwired to do what authority figures tell us to do, even if it is wrong, not quite legal, etc. OVERCONFIDENCE BIAS Overconfidence in the process, system, and ourselves.
