Discussions regarding Rotarian Darryl Mills (RC of Dilli, East Timor ) and his work with school furniture that has been sent via DIK Store. The involvement of our club sending curtain material and other items. Tim stated that since April to the end of this December 9 containers have been shipped to East Timor, the cost to ship these containers in total was $71,550. Just one large truck load delivered to DIK full of school lockers was a cost of $4500. Tim is proposing the board consider financially supporting and assisting with the cost of freight with the sum of $6000. The board agrees our club continues to support the DIK Store as it is a very worthwhile project. MOTION: 1/ TO CONTRIBUTE TO THE DIK S FREIGHT COSTS WITH THE SUM OF $ / THAT THE FUTURE COSTS OF FREIGHT SHOULD BE FINANCED WITH THE HELP FROM CUSHION COVER SALES AND ANY FUTURE SALES FROM THE CURTAIN MATERIAL. FUNDRAISING EVENTS TO ALSO HELP WITH FREIGHT COSTS eg HEALESVILLE HOTEL 3/ BUDGETS AND ACCOUNTS SETUP TO REFLECT THE INCOME AND FREIGHT COSTS ON A REGULAR BASIS Jenny Selway Darryl Mills is leaving and RC of Balwyn not funding as in the past. Funding for Darryl to continue helping With unloading of containers and the distribution of goods is $40,000 per annum. RC of Melbourne will manage liaison officer, Jenny will requesting expectations and advise RC Lilydale will help support Bryan McCarthy Madalyn Parlet has requested our club support Exchange Student Clare Brown with the amount of $120 to attend The 9810 District Conference in Marh MOTION TO PAY THESE COSTS: MOVED: BRYAN MCCARTHY SECONDED: HELEN MCDONALD Lawrie McKee advised Bryan McCarthy that the CCTV cameras are ongoing commitment of RC of Lilydale. Delwyn Ellis will contact Madalyn Parlet and also mentioned the Lilydale Street Party will be on again to help Raise funds for the CCTV cameras. Presentations of awards at end of year nights to be organised. Bryan will contact the schools and request names The dollar amount is to be reduced this year to $100 gift voucher and a presented with a certificate to each student Combined meeting with RC of Croydon discussed. Decision to not have but to contact RC of Upper Yarra who Supported out 50 th Anniversary. Bryan to meet with Ian Darvell to see what is needed. Bryan suggested an archive committee be authorised to keep historical data in one safe place. Thank you to Philip Herry for collecting the mail during the 10 days I was away. Helen McDonald - Secretary Board Report Membership Committee 16/11/2015 The membership advert for the Leader Newspaper has been drafted and Delwyn will organise to have it placed in the paper. I met with Delwyn recently and discussed the article in the Rotary Bulletin regarding the Balwyn club and how they have increased their membership considerably by a face-toface approach with people in their community. Delwyn and I discussed our next strategy in relation to this face-to-face approach and we will draft a letter about what we do in Rotary and present this letter with an" invitation to a meeting" to businesses starting in Main St of Lilydale. - We will target five businesses on the 27th November and report back on any feedback - If we feel it was worthwhile I will seek assistance in continuing this face-to -face approach. As I mentioned at our last meeting this face-to-face approach could also work by approaching schools in our area and discussing with teachers and other staff the merits of joining Rotary. There are many possibilities.

5 I believe the membership stands at the main shopping centres are still worth pursing- the Lilydale Market stand was cancelled recently due to a paid customer wanting the space where we were occupied. I guess this is always going to be an issue this time of year leading up to Christmas. Coles in Lilydale want a $55 payment for a stand we will not be approaching them agin. Money not used during her stay has financed this. Teddies4Timor (Rhonda Kellett) Allana Aarapakis ran another very successful fundraiser at Newport Lakes Primary School to knit and sponsor teddies. Over 100 teddies sponsored. Rhonda Kellett and Ann McCarthy attended and supported the event. Audiology Project- Timor Leste (M&B Parlet) Madalyn and Bill Parlet are continuing to meet with people from different areas of expertise to fine tune the scope of their anticipated project.
