14 More Underrepresented Populations Now Learning via The STEM Guitar Project 45% increase in the percentage of participating schools having a more than 50% underrepresented population in 2017 compared to % increase in the percentage of participating schools having more than 50% of students eligible for free and reduced lunch (low SES) in 2017 compared to 2014
15 Every day was thought-provoking and engaging. It's hard to think of another workshop I've been to as a teacher that was as freaking cool as this one. This workshop literally rocks. It was really nice to be around so many knowledgeable people. It felt safe to ask questions and I always wanted to do my best no matter how long it took. ~2017 Summer GBI Participant

19 Manufacturing Impact Ø Nine Years of Growth An Average Increase of over 40% per Year Ø Approximately 8,000 Guitar Kits Produced Since Sinclair Community College Guitar Lab Guitar Kit Manufacturing Of the student-technicians in the Sinclair Guitar Lab program, 8 people have gone on to enroll at Sinclair, 6 have since graduated, and 4 have continued their education to earn 4- year college degrees and work in the manufacturing industry.
20 Quantifiable Learning Outcomes Guitar Building Institute participant teachers from 15 states assessed 769 students from grades 6 through community college level on their knowledge of 12 modular learning activity (MLA) skills using pre- and post- assessments. Overall, the STEM Guitar Building curriculum resulted in significantly higher scores in STEM related concepts for this group of 769 students.
21 Student Outcomes: Design, Build, Play, Learn Ø Colleges expect students who are entering STEM majors to have strong foundations in math, scientific methods, measurements, conversions, and lab skills. Ø Modern manufacturers are looking for employees with knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering processes.
22 This has really turned out to be the most amazing workshop I have ever attended! It really was life changing! I am very excited to implement this into my class next school year. This not only allows for academic instruction, but the very important soft / life skills our students are still learning or need to work on for their futures. ~2017 Summer GBI Participant
