3 e Article 1 The City of Antony (France) is organising, on the occasion of the " Rencontres Internationales de la Guitare ", the eleventh International Guitar Competition from Wednesday the 24th to Saturday the 27th of March e Article 2 This competition is notably organised with the help of the " Conseil Général des Hauts-de-Seine ". e Article 3 PRIZES The winning prizes are : - 1st Prize: 3 500, and a guitar from the Corean guitar maker «Brahman» ( value : nd Prize: rd Prize: Audience s Prize: 350 In case candidates are equally placed, the prize will be shared between winners. The 1st prize winner will be invited to play in Antony (in the " Rencontres Internationales de la Guitare " 2011). A special distinction will be awarded to the best performer of the mandatory piece. SAVAREZ offers guitar strings to the competitors. e Article 4 The competition is open to solo guitarists from any nationality without any age limit. e Article 5 Registration fee, non-refundable, is euros 60. e Article 6 Applications should be returned by the 12th of March e Article 7 APPLICATION PROCEDURES The application forms must include : a) The completed application form b) Your chosen work c) A photo d) Copy of your ID or passport e) The euros 60 registration fee by check payable to " Trésor Public " to send from the 1st of January 2010 or payment by bank transfert, use of following bank details Trésorerie Principale d Antony BDF Montrouge, compte n D (specify for Rencontres Internationales de la Guitare). 4 The application form, the rules, and the competition program can be found on Internet temps libre, concours international de Guitare e Article 8 Prizes will be paid by order on the winners bank account. Winners would be required to provide the competition office with their bank details. e Article 9 TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION a) Travel is at the contestant own expense. b) Accommodation, 2 possibilities : 1) Housing in families which will include accommodation fees only during the competition time. This way is not suitable for contestants who are accompanied (In order to benefit of a host family, the contestant is required to advise the competition office imperatively before the 12th of March 2010) 2) In hotels, at the contestant own expense (a list of the hotels is available from the competition office on request). e Article 10 DRAWING LOT A drawing lot will be taking place on Wednesday the 24th of March 2010 at AM in the Town Hall, Place de l Hôtel de Ville ANTONY, to allocate the order of appearance of all the contestants. The contestants must attend the drawing lot. If they cannot, they are required to advise the competition office. The order of appearance of contestants cannot be modified. e Article 11 COMPETITION PLANNING The competition includes 3 rounds which will take place at the " Conservatoire d'antony ", 140 avenue de la Division-Leclerc. 1st round (qualifying) : Wednesday the 24th and Thursday the 25th of March nd round (semifinal) : Friday the 26th of March rd round (final) : Saturday the 27th of March 2010 at 8.30 pm e Article 12 COMPETITION PROGRAM Qualifying a) A prelude of J.S. Bach. The chosen work will take 4 minutes to 7 minutes maximum to be played, b) Free choice of a H. Villa-Lobos s study The jury reserves the right to stop the contestant during his/her performance. 8 semi-finalists maximum will be announced at the end of the qualifying. Semifinal (maximum 35 minutes) a) The piece Around written by Eric Tanguy for the competition (

5 Should you meet any difficulties to obtain the piece, Madame DUPONT (Cultural Service : ) is at your disposal to help you in your research. b) A sonata from the twentieth century (J. Turina, F. M. Torroba, M. C. Tedesco, M. Ponce, J. Rodrigo, T. Berkley, H. W. Henze, R. R. Benett, P. M Davies ). 3 finalists will be announced at the end of the semifinal. Final (maximum 35 minutes) a) The piece Around written by Eric Tanguy. b) Free program (the pieces presented during the qualifying and the semifinal cannot be taken back). e Article 13 The contestants must play all of their program from memory and provide the jury with 3 copies of the pieces they play. e Article 14 THE JURY The jury will include international musicians. The decisions of the jury is final and cannot be changed. The jury also reserves the right not to award all the prizes. The jury cannot vote for a contestant whom he/she is or was the professor. e Article 15 The " Rencontres Internationales de la Guitare " reserve the right to cancel the competition if the number of registrations is too low. In this case, the registration fee will be refunded. e Article 16 The contestants must agree to abide by the rules of the competition. e Article 17 If any doubt about an article only the French form has to be considered.
