2 BAND Hailing from Argentina, Triddana has stepped into the Old Continent in the short time since its foundation, proving that distances are not an obstacle when it comes to making music with passion.heavy metal in its purest form, intertwined with warring Scottish bagpipes and the enchanting Irish whistle among other folk instruments, resulting in demolishing live performances and music which is intense, powerful and spirit lifting. Their second CD, The Power & the Will was released in 2015 through the German label PowerProg, and their definite entry into the European scene was realized next year with their participation in several festivals in Germany and Spain. As they planned their return for 2017, they concentrated on their new album of acoustic versions of their songs, titled Twelve Acoustic Pieces, which was released in May of this year. The band will carry out their second European tour in June-July of this year, with shows both in electric and acoustic format. 4 BIOGRAPHY Celtic folk music, powerfully played heavy metal, kilts, bagpipes, expressive hymns and an invitation to sing along with each melody... One might not expect this description to adjust to a band coming from Argentina, but it can indeed happen as Triddana has been plentifully demonstrating during the last years. They were formed in 2012, deriving their name from the Irish word Troideanna, which means fights or battles. The band quickly earned a reputation for their solid and powerful live performances, and by the time their first full-length album Ripe for Rebellion came to light, they had established themselves as one of the countries main acts in the scene. The band drew the public s attention with their combination of kilts and modern touches in their outfits, an own visual style that went hand in hand with a unique sound that attracted much more than the die hard metal fan. As they continued to sell out their shows in Argentina, they started working on their second full-length album. The Power & the Will was released worldwide in 2015 through the German label PowerProg, paving the way for the band s arrival in European soil. Their presence at the Free & Easy Festival, in Munich, at the renowned venue Backstage was announced for July 2016, followed soon after by more concerts in Germany and Spain. The reaction of the public to the band s energy and style was overwhelming, motivating their return for the following years. In late 2016, the band concentrated on the production of Twelve Acoustic Pieces, a collection of their songs re-worked with alternative instrumentation and a feeling much closer to that of folk music. The album was released in May 2017 in digital format and this alternate repertoire lead to a new experience for live shows as well, intimate and well-suited for Irish pubs and the like. Triddana carried out their second tour in the summer of 2017, including participations in the festivals MISE Open Air, Open Air Seedorf and a new edition of the Free & Easy Festival. The band are now planning their fourth full-length album to be released in 2018, along with their next European tour for that same year, which will include shows in both electric and acoustic format.
