1 Boost Your Productivity Step #1 Clean House
2 You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with. - Jim Rohn YOUR HOMEWORK TO BOOST PRODUCTIVITY: Think about this quote, no really, stop and think About it. Next, list the 5 people that you spend the most time with below: After each of the names you ve written about, write the word that you first think of when you think of how you feel before, during and after spending time with them. Take your time and really think about this.you might notice that I asked you to write 5, but there are 10 spaces. This is because if there are more people in your life that you want to list- go for it! Now, look at words you have written, if the words are words like- inspired, fulfilled, challenged (in a good way), loved, or uplifted highlight these names. If the words are anxiety, drained, unloved, or stressed cross of these names. This is super important! You must free yourself of the people in your life that have negative influence. I am talking about the people that totally drain you of your energy; those people who are always complaining and blaming others for the negative results in their lives. Or, maybe it s those people that are always judging others and spreading gossip, and lastly the dream crushers- put those people on the crossed off list too! You know the ones that say your dreams are impossible, that have you second guessing yourself, or are constantly bringing you back down to their level- cross them off. Your first action step is as follows: be mindful of the time you spend with people on your list. I am not saying cut people out completely, but reduce the amount of time that you spend with the people crossed off and increase the amount of time you spend with the highlighted people. Make a conscious effort to spend the most time with those that are positive, engaging, uplifting and motivating. If you are going to be successful, you must surround yourself with successful people. Seek them out, ask them to share their success tips with you- do as they do, read what they read, think like they think, and keep experimenting until you find what works for you. Not everything will work for you, but keep seeking and trying you ll get there!
3 Now it s time to clean up your to-do list. All of us have different things on our to-do lists, like: clean out your closet, make new connections, detail your car, call a friend to check-in, spend more time with family, pay off bills, and the list can go on and on! Below, write a list of things you ve been meaning to-do and have yet to complete: (Use the notes page if you need more space) Looking at your list, which one of these to-do s is absolutely necessary to get done in the next month- highlight no more than three of these. For example, will it be completely life shattering if your car does not get detailed in the next month, probably not! Now, start by making your new list of the three to-do s and underneath it the steps you need to take to get there and post that shit so you can see it- taking one task on at a time. Get the important things done and get rid of the other necessary to-do s. The key here is to make a plan to get these things done, one thing at a time. Do not move onto the next thing until the first one is done. Maybe you re thinking this is not a big deal. So what if you choose not to take this step? Be prepared to continue to have your to-do list overwhelm you, bring additional stress to your life, and continue feeling chaotic and disorganized. The ultimate goal here is to clear spaceclear space for you, your mind, and what really matter most in your life. So I m sure you were thinking you re getting out of house cleaning and celebrating?!!? Well, not so fast! We re going to take a lesson from Jack Canfield here. I want you to walk around your house and make a list of 5 things that are bothering you. This could be the color of a wall, a picture that is out of date, clothes in your closet you haven t worn for 10 years, or anything that provokes a negative feeling or response. List these things below:
4 Once you have your list of 5 things, get rid of it, change it, or even better yet-donate it. This is your low-level stressors that subconsciously bring stress to your everyday life- get that shit out!! Again, this may seem petty, or silly, or way too small to make a difference- TRY IT! It will work! Harnessing and building our positive energy every chance we get can be a life changer. Not only will this help bring less stress to your life, it will also simplify your life. As you begin to look at life differently and clear more space (both in your environment and mentally), your enthusiasm for fulfilling your passion by boosting your productivity will increase. Getting you even closer to reaching your goals and living in abundance through true fulfillment and happiness. Abundance is not something we acquire; it is something we tune into. - Wayne Dyer
