She's featured in this women's platform, and the truth is, that the idea for this came out in one of our trainings, right? I'm just honored that someone of her stature, her caliber, just so if you don't know, she did twenty five million in five years, I'm just happy that she made the time to be with us and to pour into me and to be a part of this event. I'm honored and I want to say that my full purpose and intention in being here today is to highlight you and what you are up to and what you have accomplished. When we scheduled my interview, which I cannot wait to jump on, and have my turn in sharing my millionaire secrets, I realized that, where's the place that we really get to hear the behind the scenes of what had you create this. What can we expect, and how can we used this in the most powerful way possible? So, I'm going to take a minute, if you don't mind, to formally introduce you. Obviously everyone here has heard of you in some way or another but there are some folks that were referred by somebody who s already benefiting from your work. So, I want to make sure that we really lay it out and they get the power of who put this together. Who you are and why. So, right now I'm thrilled to introduce the black women millionaire mentor Dr. Venus Opal Reese. 2 on. Dr. Venus was a walking statistic. She went from living on the mean streets of Baltimore, to Stanford Ph.D., to seven figure sister. Her clients have generated over seven million in revenue using her proven programs, systems and strategies. Dr. Venus knows what it takes to break through inner glass ceilings that limit performance. What I want to say, in addition to that, is that I personally have been able to witness the last three and a half years of Dr. Venus incredible growth path in becoming a millionaire mentor specifically for black women, and her ability to articulate her blessing to create systems so that she doesn't walk the path alone, others can follow her powerful path, its what makes her the magnet for all of these amazing contributors and change agents that you re going to be hearing from for next three days. So, right now I want to dive in and let's put the spotlight on you Dr. Venus because you are about to spotlight so many amazing people for all of our good that it just won't be the same if we didn't start with you. So, why black women millionaires? Why is this virtual salon a historical and revolutionary act? Well, it s so different being on this side. I love it. I've been looking forward to this moment to turn the tables and shine this spotlight on you because you have been doing so much to bring together this powerful group for us. You are the backbone of why it's happening. Well, thank you very much. So, black women millionaires, I believe that only 2% of women in business ever break the million dollar mark, no matter what your ethnicity is. If you think about the history of slavery in North America, if you think about apartheid, if you think about the colonialism, just in terms of world history. To be a black woman, and I'm not so much speaking about skin color, I'm speaking about positionality in terms of class norms that historically we have been positioned as the bottom, as the workhorse, as the chattel globally. So when you have a black woman triumph over their internal shackles, that we've inherited, that we've had passed down by our mothers or left behind by our fathers. It is nothing short of a revolutionary act to become self-actualized, to be willing to give yourself

3 the internal permission to prosper. I fundamentally believe that if you're committed to be a black women millionaire, it's the being part, that's the hard part, and the money follows. So, that's why black women millionaires, I m committed that black women realize that you don't have to be an actress or athlete to monetize. You don't have to be Halle Berry or Kerry Washington, or even Serena Williams to monetize. I think that if you look at the book The Millionaire Next Door, I believe, it's easier to make a million than it is making the first hundred thousand, and it's easier to make five hundred thousand than it is to make fifty thousand because all those numbers are attached to an emotional state, and it s the state of how you see yourself would dictate your income. That's brilliant. And I have to tell you a little secret. It worked that way for white women too. They can't see us right now, and us Jewish women too. But I do hear you so much that when you talk about from where your tribe is rising up, there is just this additional conversation that you re bringing, this other level of consciousness, of support to all of it. So, thank you. It's beautiful. No, thank you for that. I appreciated that. Thank you. Now, I know this year you're doing something special, really unprecedented. Which is not just interviewing black women millionaires, and you certainly have an incredible line up for us there. But also you ve included millionaire mentors, tell us more about that for this year. I'm so happy to be talking about this. I never have thought to say this, right. Very funny. Where would you have a place right. I would have told my mother. This is the thing, this is what I realize, it was my 9 th grade math teacher was the woman who saved my life. She was the one who got me off the streets and got me cleaned up. So, my whole walk has been because I have had mentors who loved me through it, who saw who I could be, who have

4 faith for me, and who can help me in a ways that I couldn t help myself, right? One of the reasons why I chose to invest in you Lisa, and I'm going to tell you, I'm a big, big, big champion of investing in people who have gone where you want to go the way you want to go. When I chose to invest with you, not once but twice in major heart seeking ways. I wanted a mentor who had a spiritual foundation, who had a good heart, who told the truth and who was unapologetic about their power and their worth of the world. So, being with you. Being trained by you in terms of sales, being able to systematize my story, into seven figure success. If I took your systems away from my story, I won't be a seven figure sister. When I thought about millionaire mentors and we would doing our pow-wow, it became very apparent to me that there's a difference between making your own money and empowering somebody else to make their first million. What I realized, is that if I left out millionaire mentors, its only telling half story. It would make it look like all of us, all the sisters and some of the brothers just so you know that do we have some men, okay I m diverse, who are participating in this, it would look like we did it on our own, and no one I ve interviewed, no black millionaire, or white women millionaire or male millionaire, or Jewish none of us did it without a mentor. And I mean a structured format that we invested financially in to move forward, so I wanted to include the whole story and I want to bring the best. It s one thing to make your own money but it s a whole other thing to empower somebody else to make their own. So I wanted to add that piece in, because otherwise people are left with the illusion that willpower will make you rich, and it won't. It will make you tired. Well, I love that you've included both and you re right it does give the whole picture. So let's give a quick snapshot, what's the flow of the event that we can expect for the next three days. What I ve done this year is I set it up so that all three days are worth your time. I have what I call my millionaire mix, so I have sister millionaires, I have millionaire mentor and I also have media millionaires mentors.

These are black women, business owners who are literally on the cusp of glory. They re multiple six figure earners and they're willing to tell the dirty-dirty, the real truth about how they have stopped themselves from being a seven figure sisters. I mean, I can't wait for you to hear Natasha Allrich s story. She went from six figures to food stamps, back up to six figures. It s amazing her journey, or even Molesey Crawford. She has over, I believe close to three hundred thousand people on her Facebook. She's been a part of her husband's business, which is million dollar business but she never took herself for one. Can you say more about that? Sure, I think you just did indirectly. As black women, specifically, I'm certain every culture has their own value system. As black women we have been socially rewarded for looking good. So, I know some sisters who are dressed to the nines, I mean a Coach bag, to trendy clothes, to Gucci glasses, but they re sleeping in their car. As a group, we have a high value on esthetics, on self-presentation, and it makes sense given the history we've inherited to be thought well of has a lot of meaning. Well, specifically just someone like me who came off street who came up hard.

9 So, one of the things I've learned of black women is that we're comfortable and trained to put our money on us. On our nails, in our hair, on our shoes, in our clothes, but we have not been rewarded to put on money in us. Meaning training ourselves to monetize our worth. Now, some of us have degrees but if you re anything like me that was a validation. That's not the same as learning how to monetize, that's not something that is taught. It's not an aid, its actually kind of counter intuitive. So, what I've said is to put your money in you, I'm saying to invest in you to learn a skillset that will be for you for a life time. That's why I m so big on monetizing, making money of the work you know and the work you bring to the world, but to work for other people. I love that. I think about some of the same things I agonize about personally or even think twice about, and I think about what I put in my hair, in my wardrobe, in my shoes, and you re right. I mean in every level, it's a bridge you just keep having to cross so, I love that. Thinking of it that way put your money in you and then you'll have more money to put on you. Well that is very true. And that's what I said, yeah, We can go together, yes. Now, I notice when I'm here actually I got myself over like I'm sure a lot of people listening to blackwomenmillionaires.com/joinus-2015 and I think there s something that we have failed to mention and this is so very cool. So, I'm taking money out of my pocket, and it's not a bad thing, so that people who don't know you or don't know me; young girls, they get a shot, that they wouldn't get if we hadn t invested in ourselves. So, it's a dual purpose, right. You get training to invest in yourself, you get the content that can feed you. So her life doesn t have to be as demanding or challenging as what you and I may have had to go through. I love this. For me all fits in with lift as you climb. So, you invest in you.
