3 Submittal Standards: These standards are intended to provide the minimum requirements for an electronic plan review submittal. Additional requirements and/or information may be required based upon the individual project. All digital files shall comply with the following standards. Deviation from the standards will be considered an incomplete submittal and will cause delays in the application process. The number of required reviews depends on a variety of factors including: the complexity and size of the project, the quality of the plan submission, adherence of the plan submission to City standards, the location of the project and the scope of work. All reviews take place simultaneously and plan comments will be compiled at the end of each review cycle. When each plan review cycle is complete, applicants will be notified that their application is approved or what revisions are required. Plan review comments will be provided as a combination of markup s directly on the submitted plans and a review comments report that can be downloaded through the Energov System. Security: Document security must allow city staff to mark up plans, create comments, and add or remove sheets as necessary. PDF files shall have permissions set to allow Annotations, Form Fill and Signing by City Staff. File format: All digital documents shall be in Portable Document Format (PDF). PDF s shall be a first generation vector based file (direct conversion from Bluebeam, AutoCAD, MS Office Suite, etc.). Staff will provide corrections in Bluebeam Review Software. All plan sheets shall be contained in a multipage single PDF File. Additional supporting documents shall be submitted as individual documents or as a multipage single PDF. Scanned plans (i.e. plans, elevations, sections, details) will not be accepted without prior approval from the reviewing Department/Division. However, supporting correspondence, energy code documents, and forms can be provided as a scanned document with optical character recognition (OCR) so that text can be selected or searched for in the document. File Size: All files to be uploaded must be less than 100 MB. Files should be reduced to the smallest size possible to provide quick access to the files. For any files larger, please contact the reviewing Department/Division for assistance prior to submittal or resubmittal. eplan Review Standards Document Page 3 of 5

4 Scale: Plans must be generated at a standard engineering scale (1:20, 1:50, etc ) for plats, site plans and engineering plans or a standard architectural scale (i.e. ¼ = 1, ½ = 1 ) for building plans, to allow staff to verify dimensions and areas. Graphic scales matching the stated scale must also be provided. If drawings are found to be unmeasurable or unscalable; staff may reject the submittal as incomplete and required revised scalable plans be submitted. It is recommend for ease of review that scales and parameters be maintained throughout the process. All Plans shall be submitted on sheets 22 x34. Page Orientation: All plans must be set to landscape orientation oriented so that north is at the top of the page or monitor. Other submittal types may be set to either landscape or portrait orientation. However, north must be at the top of the page or monitor. A north arrow shall be included on all plans. Plan Submittal File Naming: The files shall be named based on submittal type (Site Plan, Plat, Architectural, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Structural, Fire, Civil/Engineering, and Landscape plans, etc.). All plans for a submittal shall be a single file that has each plan sheet bookmarked with sheet number and sheet title. All documents shall contain the date of the version in the title of the document. The format for the date shall be year-month-day, YYYY-MM-DD. 5 Bookmarks: To facilitate references during the plan review and intake process each sheet should be bookmarked with the sheet number and title. For clarification, the individual pages shall be labeled according to the sheet number and description of the plan sheet, i.e. 002-Site Plan, 010- Paving Plan, 020-Grading Plan, etc. The order of the drawings on the digital document should match the same order on the cover page. Sealing: Plans and documents prepared by Design Professionals may be signed either digitally or electronically in accordance with Texas Architectural and Engineering Board standards. Plans prepared by Design Professionals shall contain an information block with name, license number, FIRM number, signature and contact information. eplan Review Standards Document Page 5 of 5
