She opens her life to her readers. I find it amazing what she went through and wonder how I would've reacted at her age in the same circumstances. Without giving away too much I was quite pleased where she was at the end of the book. I'll be looking for the next volume. This author writes with what I judge to be complete honesty,and she has really lived a very difficult life. If you haven't read Kat Ward's books from the start of her life, KERI the shocking true story of a child abuse... I strongly suggest that you do. BRAVO!! To Kat Ward. Personally I wish I could in some way take away some of the hurt your horrible woman that gave birth to you (as she was not a mother in any sense, way, or form). This should be made into a mini-series. I chose this book because I really NEEDED to find out how Keri ultimately survives. Since I have not finished it, I am claerly not able to give a proper FULL rating, but what I have to say is important.i chose this series because I was a severly abused child. I have not told my story, but I like to dig around and read about other people in this world who have endured what NO PERSOULD EVER HAVE TO ENDURE. Abuse is just that; ABUSE. When it is shared, it is lessened. Not to say that it makes the abuse less, it just makes ME feel better when I share my pain with even just one other person. I do not hold it inside and it gives the abuse less power somehow.that said, I REALLY appreciate Kat's detailed account of what she does remember. So what if we cannot remember all of what happened so long ago? I truly believe that those most horrific evens in our lives do not reveal themselves until we ar eready to handle them.kat Ward is brave, beautiful, and most of all, lovable. This book and the one before it help me to know that I am not alone and that MY story should be told.thank you, Kat Ward. Now I don't know why. I suffered thru it because I thought it might get better, it never did. Am I the only one who thinks that? Maybe the next installment will be better because I did enjoy the first two. We shall see. But really you can't skip this one, or maybe you can, just to go on to the other. I feel for Keri, I really do, my review in no way lessens the pain and suffering she went thru. But to pay for

4 this book...no Having been on this journey with Keri has caused me to reflect on my own 60+ years. Happy memories, nightmares and the dreams I dared to have. As with Keri, reality had it's own set of rules. It is heartening to finally see someone in her corner. The next book sickens me in that I am well aware... it is the last available to me. Kat as allowed me to face some demons in my world. Nana is the embodiment of the Grandma I want to be. Luckily I am on target with my own grandchild and aim to leave those same idolized feelings Kat has experienced. What an enjoyable read y o u have provided your readers Kat. I can assure you... your talents spite the hideous creature who gave you birth. Her claims of your worthlessness are but the cries of a deranged mind. I am honored to have been in your company. The first think that must be stated here is sympathy for the author in such a despicable family and support upbringing. I do believe the story to be quite plausible from a time period standpoint. It's very easy, even today, for an abused child so groomed in covering up, to slip through the cracks. And, because of the damage to them emotionally, ongoing abusive situations and poor choices continue the cycle.that being said I gave three stars because of the tedious nature of the story telling, the repetitive descriptives (if I read "my horrible mother" one time, I read it fifty times, and errors in continuity. While the original intent of the books, as stated by the author, was a therapeutic tool, how can a main character's name change from paragraph to paragraph? I didn't read as a personal memoir. At times the writing is rather pedantic and just plain boring. I did read all three novels from a curiosity standpoint but then again, I also read the back of cereal boxes and just about anything in orint that crosses my vision. This author tells her story in such a way it makes the reader feel like you know the people in the story. Once you start reading you can't stop. It's like a great movie and you can't pull yourself away for a moment in fear you will miss something but with the book you can't find a place to stop reading because you have to know what's next. This is a great series. I recommend it to anyone who reads true stories. I absolutely cannot put this woman's books down! Wow is all I can say. I'm getting ready to check to see if the next book is out yet. If anyone is considering buying this book I recommend that u buy all 3, book 2 & 3 are a little shorter than part 1 but worth every penny none the less. To anyone

5 questioning her memory of everything that was said word by word, needs to realise that as long as she has the scenario right and knows the people and how they would potentially act under the circumstances, then who the hell cares whether every word was correct. To Kat, there will always be haters in life that are jealous. You are an awesome writer, keep them coming and I will keep buying!!!!!
