3 MESSAGE FROM ST.GEORGES ALUMNI PRESIDENT wwelcome to the 4th Annual Dennis Ziadie Memorial Cup game. It s the time of the year when we get together to celebrate the life of one of our great leaders in sports, Dennis Ziadie. We are happy and thankful for the community participation we have received in the past, which continues to grow each year. Last year we had over 400 adults in attendance and we expect to have over 500 adults plus children in attendance this year. Dennis had a very unique association with both St. George s College and. He attended and graduated from St George s and in later years he coached both schools to Manning Cup victories, JC in 1974 and St. George s in 1983 and Both St. George s and have enjoyed a camaraderie that mirrors the relationship Dennis Ziadie shared with both schools. This camaraderie has continued and is demonstrated in the friendly annual soccer event that we are here to participate in today, as spectators and athletes. We are thankful for having known Dennis Ziadie and for his contributions to soccer and the different lives he touched during his journeys. Enjoy today s game and see you next year. With warm regards, Trevor Palmer President MESSAGE FROM JC ALUMNI PRESIDENT The Old Boys Association of South Florida is pleased to extend an invitation to the Jamaican community in Florida to the 4th Annual St. George's College Old Boys Association of South Florida versus Old Boys Association of South Florida Soccer match and after party, for the Dennis Zaidie Memorial Trophy. The annual match is in memory of Dennis Zaidie, who coached both schools to Manning Cup victories. Dennis coach the successful 1974 Manning Cup team and the winning 1983/84 St Georges College teams. This year also marks the 21st year of the unfortunate death of Dennis and Jackie Bell in Mexico. We look forward to sharing this occasion with the Jamaican community in South Florida. 4 Biograpghy On Dennis Ziadie History Of Manning Cup Year Manning Cup Walker Cup DaCosta Cup Ben Francis Cup Olivier Shield wdennis Ziadie played his high school football College. He played on the 1961 Manning Cup Finalist team that lost 1-0 to. The same team won College first ever Walker Cup in 1961 by beating the same team. He began playing professional football in Jamaica on the Santos FC football team and made his first international Football debut, under Pena, at the age of 17 playing left wing. Dennis began his high school coaching career with where he coached from The team won the Manning Cup, Walker Cup and Olivier Shield in He began coaching College in In 1983 they won the Manning Cup, Walker Cup and Nutrament Shield. In 1984 they won the Manning Cup (beating JC), Walker Cup and Olivier Shield. In his final year coaching at College the team won the 1985 Walker Cup. All four of Dennis Ziadie sons attended St Georges College where Nicholas and Christopher played on the winning (Manning/Pepsi/Colts)teams. Dennis Ziadie JC and St Georges College teams won 3 Manning Cup, 4 Walker Cup, 2 Olivier Shield and 1 Nutrament Shield collectively. Dennis Ziadie died in a car accident in June 1986 at the World Cup Finals in Mexico while coaching the Jamaica Under-20 team.
