3 About us Whenever I m asked where my idea came from to start a business, I just say. I was inspired by Darcy. INSPIRED BY DARCY produces beautiful homewares and gifts. The company is based in Somerset and was launched in 2014 by Janet Smethurst. Darcy is the inspiration behind everything we do, whether it s walking through the stunning Somerset countryside with my husband, enjoying a pub lunch together or just relaxing in front of a roaring log fire at home. Wherever we are and whatever we do, Darcy is always with us. Besides being the inspiration behind the business, Darcy spends his day keeping everything in order and checking all the products. Following the success of our Collection, Black and Yellow ranges have become part of the Inspired by Darcy family. Darcy s best friend, Nell (a chocolate springador) who he met 10 years ago at puppy group, shares a big part in what we do, and inspired us to introduce our collection. We personally check every single order we send. We never send a product unless we would be delighted to receive it ourselves, so you can always be assured of the quality and service you will receive from us.
