2 EXCELLENT LIGHTING PERFORMANCE K199 California Post Top The California luminaire was one of the original acorn styles that graced the streets of North American towns and cities, particularly in Southern California where it rapidly became a standard. Noted for its prominence during the early Hollywood Era in California, this luminaire was a popular choice that, to this day, creates a unique and stylish look. Although never losing its original shape, today s California luminaire incorporates optical systems that are as efficient as any in the industry. The original HID optical system was the internal glass refractor of the K199-I. In the 1980 s, King introduced the non cutoff K199-E external prismatic refractor, which quickly became one of the most efficient, cost effective acorns on the market. Recently, King designed the cutoff K199-L with our VL1 louvered reflector system, providing excellent lighting performance with minimal glare, while addressing IES luminance criteria. The versatility offered by these three optical systems allows King to provide an effective solution for any given lighting project. 1
