2 The Historical Bioethics Newsletter Archival Collection maintained by the Bioethics Research Library, Georgetown University is a collection of more than 250 publications created by organizations, universities, societies, and other groups to promote and examine bioethics issues. The collection is made up of two series. Full and partial newsletter runs occupy the bulk of the collection and constitute the first series. These newsletters were kept and maintained as part of the Bioethics Research Library s commitment to gather the most up to date and relevant bioethics literature in the world. They have remained part of the collection as resources for students, researchers, and visitors, and were once part of the library s ongoing journal collection. The second series consists of single issue newsletters that were either acquired because of the newsletters specific topic, or were selected as tools to evaluate the suitability of the newsletter being added to the larger ongoing collection. Both series are presented in alphabetical order with dates and volume information where available. You can request the use of a newsletter by visiting the home page of the Bioethics Research Library, bioethics.georgetown.edu, and scheduling an appointment to view archival and special collection materials. The collection can only be viewed in the Bioethics Research Library and all rules governing use of special collection materials will be observed. A permanent link to this guide has been created and will be maintained on Digital Georgetown. Created Oct Updated Nov. 2014
