Further bidding: 1 to play if opener has bal. with 4- card support. Natural diamond bid 17+ with 3 triple. Opener can then bid further as follows: 2NT / 3 3NT 4 / 4 Natural +, minimum with stopper. Natural, descriptive bal, 4-card supp,. 7 System Note 2) 2 relay after 1MA-1NT 1 Main principles: After the opening 1 MA, the 1NT response either shows 4-10 HCP without MA supp. Or 3-7 hcp with 3 card support. After 1 opening, the weak 3-card support hand may contain 4 or more! Jumps to the 3-level from opener are non-forcing, showing p. Gameforce is established only by initiating with the 2 relay o Except for the direct jump to 3ut which shows balanced After 1M-1ut-2 shows maximum, 8-10 hcp and GF, except if opener bids 2 in her opening suit 2 in the opening majorsuit shows all minimum hands with 2/3 card support All other bids on 2 show minimum and 0-1 in the opening major suit, except for 1 1ut 2 which shows 4-7 and 5+ and After GF bids following the 2 relay, we use most bids to show the hands that are not easily bid using the strong 2 club opening, typically 2-suiters, assuming that a strong 6+major opening will open 2 clubs. The system if OFF if opponents interfer! 11 System Note 4) When opponents show a known-two suiter The convention is used when opps overcall showing a two-suiter in known suits. The options are as follows pass dbl Overcall in the nearest Of the opponents suit Overcall in the farthest of the opponents suits Interest in penalty in at leas tone of their suits Double from opener is penalty. GF without primary fit to opener s suit (typically showing length in the fourth suit) GF with fit to the opening bid 4. suit natural, NF Direct support natural, NF AFter our opening and response in a new suit followed by a 1/2NT overcall from opps in 4th position, we use the convention to show either a standard bid or a minimum bid just showing distribution. 12 System note 5) Opponents interfer on our 1NT opening The system is off, except if 2 or double show a one-suiter (e.g Capelletti). The double of 2cl asks for majors (Stayman) and 2 after their double (one-suiter) is also Stayman (RD is strength and doubles after this is penalty). The opponents double 1 NT ( ) Revised Sundelins Sprattlinger Pass Rdbl To play (the cheapest option or 8+). 13 Rubensohl Is used when We open 1nt and opps overcall bids on the two-level We double opps 1 nt opening (RHO) and they (LHO) overcall on the two-level We overcall 1nt on opponent s opening 1x, and they (LHO) overcall on the two-level The principle is to use transfer bids as invit+. If partner has not passed, we follow strictly the rule. On the overcall 1M we play OSTOT responses from 1nt if the opp passes or doubles! 11
16 System Note 9): Reverse Trelde signalling Is used against suit contracts when we lead an honour (EKQJ) in a suit - which we opened with and were supported in (e.g. 1sp 3sp) - which partner has bid or overcalled. We play, - Small = encouraging in the suit - High Even = signals to the lowest side suit, not trumph - High Odd = signals to the highest side suit not trumph 7,8,9,10 are prioritized. Sometimes we do not have the right card. Partner must evaluate this depending on her own holding of even/odd cards. If 7-10 are not available, we may afford to play and honor eg. the jack. 12
17 System Note 10) Revised LEAPING MICHAELS Shows 5+ minor 5+ in a major /unbid major and is F1 Is played in the following situations: - After opps 2MA and 3MA openings - After opps 1MA p 3MA - After opps 1 (Bergen /Fitbid) we play Dbl = t.o. of spades 3 = clubs 3 / natural 4mi = LEAPING MICHAELS - After opps 1 (Bergen /Fitbid) we play Dbl = t.o. of 3 = clubs 3 / natural 4mi = LEAPING MICHAELS - After opps 1-3 (Bergen /Fitbid) Dbl take-out of natural 3 at least 6 in a minorsuit (4/5 mi is pass or correct hereafter) 4mi leaping - After opps 1-3 (Bergen /Fitbid) Dbl take-out of at least 6 in a minorsuit (herafter 4/5 minor = Pass or correct) 3 natural 4mi leaping - After opps 2 diamond Multi opening bal or 17+ Direct overcall Jump bids Major strong 8-9 tricks 4mi (5+ the bid minor plus 5+ hearts) if we have spades we must wait one round. 13
