18 agoraphobian ~ claustrophobic Agoraphobian species (Bittern, below) hide in tall vegetation and are therefore unlikely to enter the open space of the runway Claustrophobic species (for example Stone-curlew) prefer to stay in short vegetation to be able to have a wide view. In this way they see predators approaching in advance, giving them enough time to flee before predators like snake and fox can catch them. 18
