7 Description Specifications (data sheet) Glassblocks manufactured in France Version 2008 Glass: Composition : the glass used for our the manufacture of glassblocks is obtained by fusion at 1550 C from a mixture of silica (body that becomes glass), soda (the flow) and lime (the stabilizer). Physical properties : Specific mass: density 2,5; Dilatatio: between +20 C and +220 C = 9 x 10-6 % per grade C. Glassblock compression resistance > 6N/mm 2 Insulating Glassblock : Realized by hot welding at 800 C of two half hollow glassblocks obtained by pressure at about 1050 C of a glass drop. These Glassblocks, re-cooked at 560 C to eliminate internal tentions, contain rarefied air.
