4 for SME s. He also touched upon parallels between industry & academia, need of being competitive and developing into a learning organization and adapting innovative practices as sure ways to forge ahead. At the end, he advised faculty members to fully utilize the energy of the youngsters in right direction. Dr. Mr. Kamalesh Pande, Chief Consultant, Forbes Marshall, Pune deliver lecture to faculty Vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. D. J. Tidke at the end of this interesting session. One day workshop for students of GHRCE under TEQIP-II The faculty development programme was conducted for the faculty of GHRCE on 18th January 2014 by Mr.Kamalesh Pande, Chief Consultant, Forbes Marshall, Pune. Over 75 faculty members attended the workshop. At the beginning of the programme the speaker Mr. Pande delivered a technical lecture on the subject Thermal Insulations. The expert lecture was in fact a demonstration to the faculties and the students as to how a subject can be lucidly presented to bring out what industries expect from class room teaching. He unveiled different teaching skills during this lecture. During the session on Recharging Raisoni Spirit he impressed upon the faculty members about the need of having an education trend which reflects the requirements in market forces from time to time. He emphasized on the need of adopting students-centric approach in teaching learning and development processes. He opined that multidisciplinary projects, developing centre of excellence with industry partnership would enable cultivating win-win relationships with industries and result in developing technologies or products Dr. Mr. Kamalesh Pande, Chief Consultant, Forbes Marshall, Pune deliver lecture to student in GHRCE Auditorium The workshop was held 17th January 2014 at, GHRCE, Nagpur for all students of third year of all disciplines. It was aimed at making students aware of what industries today expect from engineering graduates. In a very lucid and interactive manner Mr. Kamalesh Pande, Chief Consultant, Forbes Marshall, Pune conducted a series of 4 sessions during the day which benefited nearly 700 students.
5 In his presentation on Let s change gears, Mr.Kamalesh Pande shared his real life experiences in key positions in different industries to sensitize them and provoke them to think with an eye on the future. He emphasized that they must adapt to the changing technological needs and prepare themselves accordingly. He also explained them the meaning of innovation, creativity performance, value system, discipline, ethics and integrity in a very lucid manner. He then explained the importance of doing project work and also internship meaningfully emphasizing that these are highly action oriented learning areas. He pointed out that gap identification during the process of internship is a smarter way of doing internship and they must learn to develop bridges between knowing and doing. In the post lunch session, Mr. Pande provided tips for preparing for the world of tomorrow so as to be able to fulfill expectations of the industries. He narrated the importance of soft skills in the outside world and advised students to take ownership, accept challenges as opportunities etc. Students were fully charged by listening to him. The highly interactive question answer session, which lasted for about an hour, students very enthusiastically asked a number of career oriented questions and got their doubts cleared. Delighted by the interest and enthusiasm of the students, Mr. Pande announced two cash prizes worth Rs.1000/- each for having asked the best questions of the day. Initially, Dr. D. J. Tidke welcomed and introduced the guest while Dr. (Mrs.) R. N. Baxi proposed the vote of thanks. Guest lecture on Power Scenario in India & Thermal Power Plant Automation for the students of M Tech CAD/CAM & HPE Dr. A. G. Vinchurkar delivering guest lecture on Power Scenario in India & Thermal Power Plant Automation The department of Mechanical Engineering has organized the guest lecture on Power Scenario in India & Thermal Power Plant Automation On October 8, 2013 for the students of I and III semester students of M Tech CAD/CAM and HPE.Mr. A.
