13 A Thermo-Hydrodynamic Self-Lubriation Analysis of Porous Circular Journal Bearings Boubendir Sid Ali 1*, S. Larbi, R 2. Bennacer 3 Abstract A thermo-hydrodynamic self-lubrication aspect analysis has been developed in order to investigate the influence of thermal and porous media effects on the performance of porous journal bearings of finite length with sealed ends. The modified Reynolds equation of thin viscous films is used including the porous media effect. The fluid flow within the porous media is considered a governed by Darcy s law. The effects of the dimensionless permeability parameter on the performance parameters are presented and discussed. The obtained results in the thermo-hydrodynamic case showed that the temperature influence on the journal bearings performance is important in several operating cases. The dimensionless permeability increase induces a progressive reduction in the pressure distribution and in the load. 14 Solar Ponds for Industrial Process Heating and Salt Drying Mohammed Bawahab 1*, Hosam Faqeha 2, Abhijit Date 3, Aliakbar Akbarzadah 4 Abstract At present, Pyramid Salts, a salt producing company located in north of Victoria, Australia. It is approximately 200 km north of Melbourne on the Pyramid Hill. Pyramid Salt Pty Ltd uses electric heaters to heat ambient air from around 20 C to 70 C in their salt crystallizers for salt drying. This paper aims to develop a solar PV driven heat pump coupled with salinity gradient solar pond to supply necessary hot air. A solar pond with 3000 square meters, and three meters deep in Pyramid Hill indicates that heat will be available at the bottom of the pond between 35 C to 50 C during the year (winter to summer). Further through this research a high temperature heat pump system coupled with the solar pond. This will increase the temperature of the available heat and produce hot air C and above for 24/7 all year around. The amount of electrical energy saving in this project has been estimated to be about 1GWh per year. 15 The Application of Tree-based ML Algorithm in Steel Plates Faults Identification Jiahui Chen * Abstract In the production of steel plates, it is essential to detect the surface quality effectively in real time. If the faults are not identified quickly and correctly, and the production technology is not corrected in time, the production of such faulty steel plates will cause huge economic losses to the company. In the traditional manufacturing process, the manual detection methods are often used to identify these faults, which is inefficient, inaccurate and time-consuming. Steel plate fault classification can be regarded as a typical classification problem in machine learning fields, which can be conducted more efficiently, quickly and accurately with the help of efficient algorithm. Rapid classification of faults allows operators to find issues more easily and improve the production processes. We apply a series of classical machine learning algorithms based on decision trees (Decision Tree, Adaboosting, Bagging, Random Forest) to model the steel plate fault data. It is found that Bagging algorithm outperforms the other methods and achieves 96.30% and 90% accuracy on the training and testing set, respectively. 16 Towards Designing High-Performance RESTful Multimedia Web Services on FPGA Al-Canaan, Amer 1 *, Khoumsi, Ahmed 2 Abstract The pertinent characteristics of Field Pro grammable Arrays (FPGA), such as parallelism, low-power consumption, programmability and low cost make FPGA convenient for real-time applications, time-consuming algorithms as well as multimedia Web services (MWS). Once built on FPGA, MWS become much less vulnerable to software attacks. Although FPGA technology imply lower performance and higher dimensions compared to Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC), FPGA offer the advantages of programmability, reduced design costs and time-to-market Indeed, multimedia Web services on FPGA are becoming common due to the availability different design tools as well as open-source modules. In this article, we are particularly interested in designing multimedia Web services with high Quality of Service (QoS) that employ substantial processing and memory resources. 18 Exploring the Impact of Comparative Approaches on Planning and Development of Heritage Tourism Zahra Mohebbi 1*, Umesh A. Kadam 2 Abstract In modern times, number of changes emerged in the form of new trends in the field of tourism which brought new vistas for further research. Comparative approaches in research have been used in crosscultural studies, which aim to make comparison across different countries and cultures. However, they were not the mainstream in areas of tourism studies, research and planning until recent years. One of the best ways of applying comparative approaches in tourism planning is cross-national studies that include a deeper understanding of other cultures and researches used for within-nation comparison. These methods best help in utilizing traditional patterns in tourism planning and research in one area, in order to achieve the most effective cultural and economic outcomes with respect to the area s local values, cultures and wants. Undoubtedly, heritage and culture are crucial sectors for the sustainability of traditional patterns. In comparative studies between selected areas, the quality and comparability of data are dependent on these areas historical and cultural backgrounds, and their similarities and differences. For example, in a recent research conducted by authors, a comparative method with respect to historical and cultural backgrounds was used to introduce a new tourism development plan for two medieval cities in India and Iran (Lucknow and Isfahan). By applying comparative approaches in heritage tourism among countries; it is possible first, to identify the drawbacks of their tourism industry; second, to evaluate and project the importance and role of cultural and historical values in sustainability of heritage tourism; third, to introduce new tourism development plans which can be designed by using traditional patterns; fourth, to establish tourism connections between countries, in particular, among areas those have many similarities. Finally, these new tourism connections and plans will have remarkable impact on improving the economy of locals and country as a whole. 19 The Importance of Holistic Medicine and Local Values in Health Tourism Development Mohammad H. Hadadzadeh, PhD 1*, Zahra Mohebbi, PhD 2* Abstract Holistic medicine, in some literature is referred as integrative or alternative medicine, or sum of knowledge and practices of ancient times; however, new standards of medical care do not consider it only as a collection of these treatments. Availability of better medical treatments in the past three decades reduced the mortality of illnesses leading to longer periods of life with morbidities, which in turn has shifted the burden of the diseases from acute to chronic types. Longer lifetime with comorbidities affects the quality of life of the individual. The key feature of Holistic Medicine is its unique way of looking at the person as a whole and not by body parts, or a separated illness. This comprehensiveness of Holistic Medicine correlates with today s modern definition of the Health status of the person provided by World Health Organization. In this definition, in addition to physical health; mental, psychological, behavioral, social and environmental aspects of life are also considered in health care of the person. In recent years, medical community recognized and re-discovered Holistic Medicine to address such variety aspects of life of the person. Traveling in order to receive a better health care; Health Tourism, has an inherited psychological, social, and environmental effect. It also increases the sense of active participation of the individual in the treatment of self, which can speed up the recovery and overall quality of life of the person. Different nations have variety of ancient models of medicine such as Yoga, Chinese medicine, mineral springs, Unani, Acupuncture, Muti, Ifa, Ayurveda etc., which unlike the modern Hippocratic medicine, most of them have embedded holistic approach. Authors introduced them as local values, which in the context of tourism have huge potential to contribute and expand Health Tourism, specifically. Their roles in development of tourism and economy are discussed. 20 A Study of Knowledge Sharing: Employee s Learning Commitment and Self-Efficacy Tahir Masood Qureshi * Abstract Purpose of the study: The study was designed to investigate the relationship between Employee learning commitment leading to employee self-efficacy that in turn leads to other positive outcomes. The study is built around three main questions including i- What effects does employee learning commitment developed by knowledge sharing practices leadership and culture has on employee adaptability and responsiveness to dynamic environment and employee skills abilities and knowledge, ii- What is the effect of employee learning commitment on employee self-efficacy development, iii- What is the impact of employee adaptability and responsiveness to dynamic environment and employee skills abilities and knowledge on the relationship between employee learning commitment and self-efficacy? Design/methodology/approach: This M ixed method crosssectional study empirically tests the hypothesis developed based on the above research questions. The sample is taken from educational sector of Middle East focusing the Higher Education bracket. Research limitations: The findings of this study cannot be generalized with much confidence on noneducational based work settings since it is built around the Higher Education system in Middle East. Practical Implications: The major implications of the study are to lead to better training resources developed for employees in order to hence their skills, improve their understanding of abilities and enable them to use their skills for the best of their interests in education sector. Such implications will directly impact the economic and community development as well. Originality / value: The research paper focuses on the previously focused element of employee commitment but in the light of its relationship with employee skills, abilities and acknowledge as well as the employee responsiveness as a mediating variable. The findings indicate that employee learning commitment towards employee self-efficacy that is measured in terms of leadership support, organizational culture and the knowledge sharing practices directly and indirectly in enhanced by the mediating variable that leads to improved employee performance and success in Educational Sector where learning is the mean to growth, development and better service to students as well as the success of Educational Institute.
