Final design - offshore wind farm 116 turbines Hub height 84m / Tip height 140m 13-20km off Sussex coast 400MW installed electrical capacity 72km 2 wind farm site area Inter array cables to one substation Export cable route being finalised Each year in numbers: Generate 1,366GWh power output Offset almost 600,000 tonnes CO 2 Supply equivalent of over 290,000 homes, more than 4 in 10 homes in East & West Sussex, Brighton & Hove 2

Onshore Construction Development Consent Requirements DCO Requirements (similar to planning conditions) includes a suite of management plans to reduce impact on local community: Construction Traffic Management Plan (CTMP) Construction Environment Management Plan (CEMP) Ecology and Landscape Management Plan Archaeological Written Scheme of Investigation Public Rights of Way Strategy 5

7 Cable route preliminary works Drainage ditches Public Rights of Way (PRoW) diversions Traffic lights / stop-go installation where required Managing Archaeology Completed number of archaeological assessments, including: Review of historic information; Geophysical surveys; Targeted trial trenching of identified anomalies and areas of higher potential of archaeological finds During construction: Archaeologist on-site monitoring works and keeping records of findings; Findings will be analysed and the results shared with local historic groups (this could take several months) 7

Temporary CTV operation from Brighton 11
12 Boulder Relocation Purpose: 1. Clear seabed for foundation and cable locations 2. Prevent damage to spud cans of MPI installation vessel 3. Prevent damage to cables and cable installation equipment 4. To allow plough skids (cable burial) to operate safely and effectively Nearshore - Merete Chris Boulder relocation deeper water - Pegasus and rock grab UTROV Relocate boulders down to 30cm in diameter Approx. 10,000 boulders to relocate Haphazard relocations to prevent reef Informing fishermen of new boulder locations 12
13 UXO (unexploded ordnance) nearshore - Neptunas 1,000s of potential targets, primarily from WWII Survey and analysis on ultrasonic magnetic targets to discount Remote Operating Vehicle (ROV) identification of remaining targets Divers assessment of last remaining targets UXO deeper water SIEM N-Sea Controlled explosion of remaining targets 16 UXOs at Humber Gateway with 5 controlled explosions 13

15 Installation MPI Discovery jack up vessel (above) Departed Teeside to Vlissingen, Netherlands on 8 th January First load out of 3 x foundations and transition pieces, arrived on site end Jan. 12 now installed Monopile hammer 2-4 hours every hours 1,000 T crane to lift monopiles. Self install to 5-10m then lower monopile through gripper Installation Substation installation (right) Four smaller piles into the seabed Cable laying vessel, Stemat Spirit (below) Cables on carousel Array cable trencher 15
16 Export cable lay and bury Saltire and Stemat Spirit (right) 7 anchors and 3,500 tonnes of cable on vessels 40 tonne winch pulls cable from onshore through intertidal zone Cable laying plough (below) Ploughs then pushes cable to a depth of 1metre Crew Transfer Vessels Windcats Start of operations: 11 th January 2016 until further notice High speed: up to 24.1 / 23.4 knots (max / average) Draught: 1.9m Length x breadth: up to 22 x 6.5m Gross tonnage: 40T Operating 2 x CTVs temporarily from Brighton Marina until Newhaven Port quayside works complete 16
17 Offshore construction programme recap Planned 2-2.5year construction period commencing Q Project Management Facility for construction located at Newhaven Port - provides portside availability, flexibility of space, ease of access and continuity Enabling works: September January 2016 First foundation - 16 th January 2016 First turbine - January 2017 Fully operational (month TBC weather pending!) 6. Operations & Maintenance Base Operations Base located at Newhaven Port, to include control room, office, warehouse and quayside infrastructure, benefiting the local economy by: Triggering regeneration plans for NPP (already encouraged new tenants) Operation Base development process: held discussions with Lewes District Council regarding the planning process design proposals and planning application 2015 (Sept) - Lewes DC approves application 2016 (early) - Final design construction commences O&M base complete (used for PM) 17

Jobs and Suppliers Offshore construction Creating 40 jobs at Newhaven Port (Vestas, crew, engineers) Utilising local vessels (e.g. guard vessels) Offshore workforce of circa 500 Direct supplies of products and services for offshore construction logistics E.ON lead contractors have a number of subcontracting opportunities Onshore construction Onshore cable route construction workforce jobs Onshore substation construction workforce jobs Operations & maintenance Around 60 full time permanent jobs being recruited Jan - Dec 2017 Opportunities for indirect local employment in the form of support service contracts (security, grounds maintenance, cleaning) & local expenditure 18
