4 2015 UNST Summer Program of nternship and Korean Experience Program Overview What makes 2015 UNST different? The 8-week-long UNST is exceptional - earn the chance to build an extensive network of talented students from allover the world and explore a different culture and language alongside a research internship during the summer. June 29 - July 24 (4 weeks) July 27 - August 21 (4 weeks) Korean Language Globalization and Economy Summer Courses Research nternship Communication with Korean Culture Special Lecture Korean Language (Required - 2 credits) This course is designed to provide introductory knowledge of basic Korean language. t also introduces students to the main aspects of traditional Korean culture and contemporary Korean society, including those pertaining to values, religion, the family, industrialization, gender, and popular culture. Globalization & Economy (Optional - 3 credits) This course focuses on how the growing impact of globalization is transforming the economy and culture of the world. t also discusses the issues on how to deal with the fast changing structures of economy and market as the globalization is being accelerated. Communication with Korean Culture (Optional - 3 credits)..j- This course offers an overview of Korean culture and society through an interdisciplinary perspective drawing on both humanities and social sciences. n this course, you will broadly explore modern and contemporary trajectories and upheaval of the political, economic, cultural, and development of Korean society. Special Lecture (Optional - Non credit) A special lecture will be delivered by internationally renowned scholars to provide students with a better understanding of science and technology. t is a great opportunity for student to share knowledge and insights in their respective fields. Research nternship Following the 4-weeks summer course, students get to learn new skills and experience research in their chosen field while working with UNST faculty. The research, which is conducted in English, provides the chance to participate in one of the most recent science and technology research fields with the most up-to-date facilities in Asia. *Selection for the internship period(4weeks or 8weeks) is possible via discussion with the students and the professor.

Parts of the field trips and cultural activities may be carried out on weekdays. Credits earned are transferable. t is required that you check with the appropriate office at your home institution for credit transfer approval. Research nternship Take part in a 4-week-long research internship and explore a field you have always been interested in, or grab the opportunity to look into other areas of science & technology! ~Selection for the internship period(4weeks or 8weeks) is possible via discussion with the students and the professcr. Eligibility Students from any university are eligible to apply regardless of partnerships between UNST and their home institutions. 3rd and 4th year undergraduates with GPA in good standing are preferred 2nd year undergraduates may also be eligible under strong recommendation

USD 90) Communication with KRW90,000 Korean Culture (approx. USD 90) Payment period June 29- KRW 200,000 Culture Experience Fee July 3,2015 (approx. USD 200) (payment upon arrival) UNST on-campus residence halls are of double occupancy, KRW 300,000 Per shared living room and bathroom, Housing Fees Month(4 weeks) furnished (bed, desk, chair, (approx. USD 300) wardrobe, bookshelf), includes internet access Fees are subject to change according to availability All course fees are waived if students are from partnering universities. Please check with the international office of your home institution to check partnership status with UNST. Course fees must be paid in full upon arrival and in Korean Won (KRW) only.
