A. Preface Skill Explained: Robotics is the branch of technology that deals with the design, construction, operation, structural disposition and application of robots. Mobile Robotics is a fast evolving, solutions orientated. Industrial mobile robotics is an important part of the industry, with applications in diverse industries, including manufacturing, agriculture, aerospace, mining, and medicine. Presently there is a need to create robots to increase the capacity for tasks that can be automated. The competitors are expected to develop a test project to solve a real time industrial application with a total automated solution. Eligibility Criteria (for IndiaSkills 2018 and WorldSkills 2019): Competitors born on or after 01 Jan 1997 are eligible to attend the Competition. The team consists of 2 competitors. Total Duration:05Hrs/task Version 2 March 2018 Skill- Mobile Robotic 3
B. Test Project Competitors are required to design and fabricate a robot as per the guidelines for carying out the specific tasks declared during test The competitors will be given smaple task earlier in advanced and there will be variation of 30%maximum for the final test The competitors shall be required to submit a soft copy of the technical documentation of the fabricated robot. The documentation shall include the Work flow chart, components Details with specification the Wiring System Organization, the Mobility Management System Organization, the Object Management System Organization, the Computer Programming Organization &flowchart. Robot structure shall be fabricated by the competitors prior to the competition; However, Robot shall be dismantled and reassembled at the competition venue. Theme (Pick and Place Autonomous): The following are the generic specification for fabrication Fabricate a Mobile Robot - Maximum size can be of 130mmX150mm Task 1 Pick and place with line follower object and Obstcle identification in autonomous mode Task2. Pick and place with object and Obstcle identification in autonomous mode Procedures Line,Obstacle Identififcation,Object Detection, 1 Demonstrate knowledge in safety rules and practices 1.1 Maintain a safe work area 1.2 Demonstrate correct use of hand tools 1.3 Follow safety rules during robotic assembly 1.4Demonstrate proper use of safety equipment 1.5 Define and document all safety issues 2 Requirements at the end of the assembly/contest 2.1 Produce technical documentation 2.2 Programming flow chart 2.3 Document assembly instructions and illustrations 2.4 Document the assembly design process Version 2 March 2018 Skill- Mobile Robotic 4
3 Apply knowledge of robotic assembly and part Identification 3.1 Identify various parts used on a mobile robot (wheels, motors, gears, etc.) 3.2 Identify the various systems in a mobile robot 3.3 Demonstrate the use of various components of a mobile robot 3.4 Demonstrate proper assembly techniques 4 Understand mechanical systems of a robot 4.1 Understand and identify the various types of components and their application 4.2 Demonstrate proper mechanical component alignment 5 Wire the mobile robot 5.1 Demonstrate proper wiring techniques 5.2 Maintain and analyze battery voltage 6.0 Demonstrate the knowledge of various visual aids used to present technical information 6.1 Present technical material in a professional manner 6.2 Demonstrate proper presentation techniques 6.3 Define team roles and responsibilities 6.4 Demonstrate ability to solve problems as a team in a given time frame 6.5 Demonstrate and document a comprehensive plan to solve an engineering problem 6.6 Use proper time management when solving a problem 6.8 Demonstrate efficient project management and planning 7.0Presenting technical information and technical problem solving 7.1 Understand and use multiple types of mobile robotic sensors 7.2 Understand and differentiate different types of motors and its control 7.2 Control Programming 7.3 Error Correction Methodologies utilized with fine tune applications Version 2 March 2018 Skill- Mobile Robotic 5

C. Marking Scheme The Assessment is done by awarding points by adopting two methods, Measurement and Judgments Measurement(M) One which is measurable Judgments(J)-Based on Industry expectations Method: Flash cards are used for judgmental as shown in figure below. Three experts do judgment Experts secretly select a score between 0 and 3. o 0: performance below industry standard o 1: performance meets industry standard o 2: performance meets and, in specific respects, exceeds industry standard o 3: performance wholly exceeds industry standard and is judged as excellent Experts display their scores at the same time and these scores are recorded. The set scores awarded must not differ by more than 1. If the scores differ by more than one, discussion is allowed, with reference to the detailed descriptor for each score, in order to bring the scores into the permitted range. Version 2 March 2018 Skill- Mobile Robotic 8
Example-Judgment Marking If maximum marks for Judgment criteria is 1 and if all 3 Experts (Juries) give 3 points to a candidate, the candidate will get 1 mark for that aspect. If 2 Experts give 3 and 1 Expert gives 2 points, then candidate will get (3+3+2)/9*1 = 0.89 marks for that aspect out of 1 mark. The tasks for performance with allocation of marks are as follows; Criteria A - Work organization & Management - 10 Marks Criteria B - Communication & Interpersonal Skills 10 Marks Criteria C Design 25 Marks o o o Base Unit Core mobility performance Simple Object Handling Task Fabrication and Assembly Criteria D Technical Presentation 05 Marks Criteria E - Programming, Testing & Adjustment (Task1) 25 marks Criteria F - Programming, Testing & Adjustment (Task2) 25 marks The Detailed Marking Form is attached as Annexure Version 2 March 2018 Skill- Mobile Robotic 9
