1 Women in Aerospace Africa Overview Women in Aerospace (WIA) Women in Aerospace (WIA) was founded over 25 years ago in the USA and since then has grown from strength to strength. In the interim sister organisations have been founded in Canada, Europe and now Africa. WIA is dedicated to expanding women's opportunities for leadership and increasing their visibility in the aerospace community. Our membership, women and men shares an interest in a broad spectrum of aerospace issues, including human space flight, aviation, remote sensing, satellite communications, robotic space exploration, and the policy issues surrounding these fields. Women in Aerospace Africa (WIA Africa) Mission Statement Expanding the opportunities of women in aerospace in Africa Objectives:! Increase undergraduate and postgraduate opportunities for African women in aerospace and engineering (Potentially a funding programme)! Implement graduate internship programme! Work with industry and Government to increase employment opportunities for women in aerospace and engineering! Implement school level awareness programme for young women (With a view to expand to a mentorship programme)

2 Established Chapters WIA Africa _South Africa WIA Africa_Nigeria Women in Aerospace Africa_Nigeria have the official support of the Nigerian Space and Research Development Agency. Women in Aerospace Africa_South Africa will be seeking the official support of the Aerospace Industry Support Initiative as well as the South African National Spcae Agency. Strategy document In Progress! Identify revenue generating projects to fund the objectives Under review! Appoint Staff Member to drive the implementation of Identified objectives, programmes, conference and fund raising! Host first WIA Africa Conference in 2014! WIA Africa Annual Achievement Awards! Develop collaboration with women in technology and engineering organisations Establishment of office facilities in association with the History of Astronomy Visitor Centre proposed in Cape Town. IF this project progresses it will allow a public face and interactive centre as a base for WIA Africa.

5 Corporate Sponsorship Participation in Women in Aerospace Africa shows your organisation s commitment to the advancement of women in the aerospace industry in Africa. This enables networking and access to decision makers within South Africa and Africa and through the events and activities planned will provide exposure. Becoming a coroporate supporter of Women in Aerospace Africa addresses supplementing workplace Diversity and Corporate Social Responsibility, enhancing Marketing and Business Development as well as Public Relations. Corporate Supporters will be features on the website and in all online and printed media. Sponsor banners will be put up at all events hosted by Women in Aerospace Africa. Our team will also endeavour to obtain newpaper and magazine coverage throughout Africa as well as television interviews. This would be initatiated according to a wellstrategised PR Plan. The Corporate Sponsors will also benefit from coverage through these media channels. As a Platinum Sponsor you are entitled to a seat on the Board of Directors. Sponsors are also able to sponsor specific items and events if they wish and will receive recognition accordingly.

We are awaiting confirmation from representatives of the following countries: Mauritius, Kenya, Namibia, Uganda and Nigeria Representatives In addition to this, each chapter has its own Board and/or Management Committee. The constituions of the Chapters and umbrealla organisation, Women in Aerospace Africa are currently being reviewed to ensure alignment as well as alignment with WIA USA.
