3 Technology Replication Thrust (TRT) has been launched in 2016 to drive adoption of proven technologies across Operators Case for Change Exponential loss of integrity due to No intervention Objectives of Technology Replication Thrust 2 Δ TRT 1 extending life Malaysian O&G has high % of mature assets Cost Reduction will remain high-priority for coming years Production efficiencies crucial Local industry technology ecosystem lagging in maturity Regulations and policies impede faster adoption of technologies Size of cost saving estimated RM 500 Mil by 2020 Life 1 Extending asset life 2 Reduced spend in late life Helicoid Epoxy Sleeve Flare Tip Inspection using UAVs Coatings Fingerprinti ng Bring Global proven technologies to Malaysia operations Embedment of technologies in processes Roadmap for Technology Ecosystem evolution Deliver RM 100 Mil target cost savings in 2017 through selected actionable technologies. Background Seeded under Opex benchmarking in Opex Benchmarking initiative highlighted need for sharing of best practices key being adoption & deployment of proven technologies 2. Asset Integrity remains a key need for all Operators will remain this initiative s focus for 2017 Technology Pilots across Operators 3. 5 The Qualification Study for TRT will aim to shape the initiative and refine the initiative cost savings targets From discussions in CORAL 2.0 OPEX Benchmarking initiative forum, we found that there is value in replicating new technologies from other O&G hubs in Malaysia Provide background of Technology replication opportunities in Malaysia Situation 1. Low oil prices to continue Crude oil prices are expected to stay below <USD 60/bbl O&G companies have extracted quick cost reduction through capex deferment and hedging 2016 onwards, companies are expected to explore other measures 2. New technologies adopted by global O&G cos to reduce costs New technologies adoption are key to success at Statoil, Shell, Exxon etc. Malaysia s increased dependency on mature fields is a catalyst for change 3. Upstream Malaysia focused technology ecosystem must grow Limited success in achieving synergies across ecosystem players incl. operators, suppliers, academia, financial svcs cos, regulatory bodies Challenges 1. Technology selection Lack of structured framework (e.g. stage-gate/ SME involvement) for consistent selection of technologies 2. Adoption of technology Limited business model/ regulatory construct for ease in adoption Limited propensity of operators to adopt even proven technologies 3. Local Content Development Long-term planning and capability development for industry ecosystem through technology lifecycle Response to evolving global scenario Leverage government funding 4. Value delivery Track and deliver cost savings from adoption of new technologies Sharing of lessons learned x- operators Technology Replication Thrust Drive adoption of technologies focused on cost reduction by: 1. Technology Screening 2. Technology Integration across cost buckets & themes 3. Business model for bringing foreign technologies 4. Local Content Development- encourage home-grown technologies 5. 6 A set of 7 areas have been identified for implementing this structural change The approach targets to develop a needs-based inventory of new technologies for adoption by operators, and develop the enablers for long-term structural change Propose the approach and structural change areas Areas Technology Screening Technology Integration Business Model Local Content Development Implementation Roadmapping Field Testing Regulatory Changes Details Inventory of operators needs to serve as Push factor for 18-24m plan Create a forum to screen technologies and identify value amongst operators Screen relevant technologies based on applicability, ease of adoption, Operators needs and value Integration of technologies in various processes to deliver synergy value Technology Symposium under CORAL 2.0 branding with cost optimization objectives to bring global technological advances (and best practices) to Malaysia Funding mechanism and MPM support for Joint Industry Project New business model (if needed) to bring new technologies to Upstream Malaysia Encourage home-grown technologies vs. brought in foreign technologies Develop adoption strategy for home-grown (proven/ unproven) techs to deliver target benefits Develop capabilities in local industry for introduction of foreign technologies Actionable Roadmap with milestones owned by the JIP (not single operators) Risk-based adoption of technology road map and business case supported by MPM Field-testing of proven technologies outside of Malaysian eco system: Operators to champion a technology based on interest Stakeholder integration to ensure success (Regulator, Operators, Experts, Suppliers, other bodies) Track, Sustain and Improve Lower policy hurdles for adoption of new technologies To update PPGUA and give TRT inputs on technology definition

8 As of Feb 2017, a total of 231 technologies from multiple disciplines have been populated under CORAL TRT Technology Inventory Technology by Disciplines Technology Feasibility Level Feasible (High) Feasible (Med) Feasible (Low) REJECT Notes: i. Each technology has been evaluated using the technology screening method. ii. Source of technologies are from third party service companies. iii. 68% of the technology categorized as Field Proven and 71% of the technology identified as high feasible. iv.incorporation of Technology Bulletin in CORAL 2.0 Portal. 11 Initiative-specific Guiding Principles to supplement calculation of potential and actual savings by initiative and PAC TECHNOLOGY REPLICATION THRUST Cost savings Production Gain Savings derived from any operational technology adoption that was recommended by the initiative. For PACs which have never used the operational technology (examples below): Helicoid UAV s for inspection Micro ROV for underwater inspection. Etc. Operations to be within the following areas: Subsurface (including subsea) Onshore receiving facilities Offshore Topsides Brownfield activities and field modifications Operations & Maintenance Production gain from any operational technology adoption that was recommended by the initiative. Increase in production in KBOE (gas to be converted to KBOE) Reduction of planned deferment days which results in an increase in production to be reported in KBOE. Reduction in unplanned deferment (UPD) as compared against the UPD prior to the implementation of technology which results in an increase in production to be reported in KBOE. 24 July 2017 CORAL
