2 Peter Blake Chevron Energy Technology Peter is the Subsea Systems Manager for the Chevron Energy Technology Company and Subsea Global Technical Authority, based in the Chevron Technology Centre in Aberdeen with global remit to support the development of subsea systems across Chevron. He is a graduate of both local Aberdeen institutions of higher education with an original BSc from the University of Aberdeen and a Postgraduate Degree from Robert Gordon s University and a Fellow of both the Institute of Marine Engineers and Society for Underwater Technology. Peter has more than 30 years of experience working in subsea engineering, focusing on all aspects of subsea systems architecture, design, installation, operation, IRM and technological development of a discipline which has grown in significance and size during that time. His career has taken him from day to day IRM support through design, installation and project engineering to positions taking on more responsibility for organisation, staffing and competence, planning and budgeting and setting the strategic direction for the subsea discipline in Chevron. Peter has worked primarily in Aberdeen, but over the course of his career has increasingly assumed global responsibility and interfaced with teams working in Angola, Australia, Brazil, Nigeria, and Houston. In the last few years Peter has become more involved with external industry organisations supporting the development of the subsea industry including; serving as a board member of Subsea UK for the past 2 years, assuming chairmanship of NSRI and being the Chevron representative on the International Oil and Gas Producers Association subsea committee. Zander Bruce BP North Sea Zander is responsible for management of the extensive subsea infrastructure operated by BP across the North Sea. This role comprises of day-to-day operations, integrity management of the subsea and pipeline infrastructure and execution of repairs, enhancements and production adding improvements. Prior to this role Zander has been held various Subsea roles in BP, covering Engineering, Project Management and Technical Authority for Subsea Control Systems. Before joining BP in 2001 Zander held a number of roles with Kvaerner Oilfield Products covering Manufacturing, System Engineering and R&D. Zander has a degree from Robert Gordon University and is a Chartered Engineer.

3 Mark Collins SMD Mark Collins joined SMD as ROV Sales Manager when they acquired Work Class ROV manufacturer Hydrovision in Since then he has played a major role developing SMD s Work Class ROV business into one of the world s leading Work Class ROV manufacturers. Mark is now Deputy Managing Director of the Remote and Autonomous Solutions division at SMD. He holds an honours degree in Electronics and Electrical engineeering and is a founding member of Subsea UK. Nicky Etherson Bibby Offshore Nicky has broad commercial and contractual experience within the oil and gas industry having worked for a number of subsea contractors as well as an oil and gas major. She has a strong background in understanding the different forms of contract and factors which affect contracting relationships in the industry. Her experience has included tenders and projects for flexible product supply, IRM (inspection, repair and maintenance), subsea facilities EPCI, subsea decommissioning and all aspects of the operational requirements of an Exploration and Production major. Highlights of her career include a global remit with direct responsibility for local (UK and Norway) contracts and supply chain with Acergy, Head of Contracts with Total as well as gaining broad experience in a contractor environment. Nicky also holds a non-executive director position with Leading Oil & Gas Industry Competiveness (LOGIC) board. In her position as Group Commercial Director for Bibby Offshore she is responsible for the pre and post award contract and commercial functions within the organisation. Brian K. Green Lamorna BDM Following his graduation from Aberdeen University as a scientist, Brian Green has 40 years experience in the offshore industry. He has been a Director and General Manager of various innovative businesses since 1990, and is currently the owner of Lamorna BDM, offering business development and management consultancy in the subsea and marine renewable energy markets. Brian is a keen supporter of industry bodies such as the Society for Underwater Technology and has played a key role in various Subsea UK initiatives; he has been a member of the Board since He is currently acting as the Board Member for the South West and has helped organise several events.

4 Simon James Deep C (UK) Simon James has had a progressive career, spanning three decades, primarily within the Subsea Oil and Gas Sector and has a wealth of hands on Engineering knowledge and comes from an Operations and Engineering Consultancy background having worked for Subsea Service Providers and Operators, both in the UKCS and Internationally. He has, for the last 7 years, specialising in Senior and Executive Interim Roles; helping Organisations through acquisition, restructuring and growth and was most recently appointed as Chief Commercial Officer of Deep C Group and Managing Director of their UK interests. Simon is a Chartered Engineer and Member of the Energy Institute and a Chartered Manager and Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute having studied Mechanical Engineering at Aberdeen College and Project Management/Engineering and Oil and Gas Law at Aberdeen University. He remains dedicated to supporting the next generation and now mentors select Individuals through the Chartership processes for the EI and CMI respectively. Geoffrey Lyons BPP-Tech Geoff is a co-founder of BPP-TECH. As a Chartered Engineer, he is a Fellow of The Institution of Mechanical Engineers, and also of the Royal Institution of Naval Architects. He has been active in the offshore sector since 1979 previously working with Brown & Root, and as a member of research and academic staff (senior lecturer) at University College London until Geoff s experience covers a wide range of complementary activities including in the field offshore as well as in the office, although a significant part of his time is spent abroad (including Aberdeen) supporting his company s business. Geoff is very familiar with the professional and training needs of the Subsea industry as an exacademic and currently as a mentor for prospective Chartered and Incorporated Engineers with the various professional engineering institutions. Based in principally London he provides improved communications with other relevant organisations including the Society for Underwater Technology. He is currently acting as the Board Member for the South East chairing the local committee.

5 David James Mair Ashtead Technology With a career spanning more than 20 years in the oil and gas industry, David Mair joined Ashtead Technology in March 2017 as business development director. Prior to this, he was global business development director at Hoover Ferguson Group and held a number of senior management roles at Subsea 7, including group vice president of business development. Based in Aberdeen, Mr Mair is responsible for Ashtead s global business development activities as the firm looks to further broaden its range of services and increase its geographical reach to provide its customers with the most efficient, cost-effective technological solutions. Mr Mair holds an MBA (with distinction) in business management, an MSc in offshore engineering and a BSc in Quantity Surveying all from Robert Gordon University. He is also a graduate of the London Business School s Accelerated Development Programme. A former non-exec board director of the Aberdeen and Grampian Chamber of Commerce, Mr Mair also dedicates a lot of his spare time to raising funds for various local charities. Most recently he took part in the gruelling 24hr Rat Race Coast to Coast challenge which saw him travel across Scotland on foot and on bike, raising over 8,000 for local charity, Home Start. Cameron Mitchell Shell UK Ltd Cameron is a Chartered Mechanical Engineer who has worked for Shell in Aberdeen and internationally for 27 years. He has held positions ranging from an Offshore Supervisor to a Principal Consultant with Shell Global Solutions and since returning to Aberdeen in 2008 he has been the Engineering and Maintenance Manager, Subsea Maintenance and Intervention Team Leader for Europe and the Team Leader for Subsea and Pipelines Surveillance for UK and Ireland. His current role is leading a multi discipline team that includes Subsea and Pipelines, Civil and Offshore Structures, Materials, Corrosion and Inspection, Maintenance and Integrity and Process Engineering. Cameron is the Shell UK and Ireland Representative on Subsea UK s Subsea Asset Stewardship Group. Cameron is passionate about driving performance improvement through collaboration, development of people and deployment of technology. He is a member of Shell s Faculty for Leadership Development and provides training and development both internally and, more recently, via the Oil and Gas UK s Fundamentals of Oil and Gas course.

6 Ian Mitchell Avista Consulting Ltd Ian has worked in the subsea industry for over 35 years. Early in his career he worked for Shell, KD Marine, Global Diving, Underwater Inspection Services & Seaway Diving. He spent 4 years with Oceaneering International as a Subsea Project Engineer and worked in the North Sea, Norway, Dubai and Abu Dhabi. He joined BP in 1985 and spent 10 years offshore on various subsea construction and remedial projects as Client Representative and Subsea Engineer. Moving onshore he supported the development of BP Safety Case submissions, and specifically BP s overall approach to safety management for offshore subsea operations. In 2000, 2005 & 2010 he was responsible for delivering the BP Subsea Federal Contracting Strategy for Subsea activities across the North Sea, and a number of focused recruitment programmes for experienced subsea personnel. Since 2003 he has held numerous positions within the North Sea Subsea Operations Team: - Project Manager on initial stages of FPS Buzzard Hot Tap Project, Regional Subsea Team Leader, Subsea Strategy Manager, Subsea Advisor and Performance Manager, he was also Head of Subsea and Pipelines 2009/10. Ian has led the development of internal processes to support, subsea production visibility & recovery options, cost management, subsea planning, and the development, interpretation and implementation of the BP EPC system for Global Subsea Operations. He has represented BP as a Board Member of Subsea UK since 2009, and also on the OGA Workgroup for Subsea Asset Stewardship. Completing his 30-year career with BP in 2015 as Subsea Advisor to Global Subsea Operations, Ian retired from BP at the end of Ian is currently Director of Avista Consulting Limited, offering consultancy, representation, strategy development, facilitation, project and initiative management services to the Oil & Gas Industry and associated trade and supporting organisations. In 2017, he has supported the transitional management of subsea operations between existing and new operators.

7 Mark Richardson Apache North Sea Limited Mark is a qualified project manager, holds an MSc in Offshore Engineering with distinction and an MBA, both from the Robert Gordon University. In 2013 he was presented with the SUT Award of Merit, and also won the Oil and Gas UK Business Efficiency Award for his Forties Alpha Satellite Platform Project. In 2015 Mark was awarded the Industry Emerging Leader Award at the P&J Gold Awards. In support of the Industry Mark is leading the Co-operation, Culture and Behaviours work stream for the Efficiency Task Force for Oil and Gas UK, is a member of the ECITB Offshore Project Management Steering Committee and has recently joined the OGA Supply Chain and Exports Board. Mark joined Apache in 2003 as part of the acquisition of the Forties Field, and since the Apache takeover he has been a member of the Apache North Sea Management Team.With the 2011 acquisition of the Exxon Mobil Beryl assets he has taken on the appointment of Projects Group Manager, with responsibilities for all topsides and subsea brownfield project and operations work and all greenfield developments from concept to completion. Prior to joining Apache, Mark worked for; BP, LRIM and numerous subsea contractors in various roles. The first 12 years of his working career were spent in the military as a Captain in the Royal Engineers, serving with the Commando Brigade and specialising in military diving operations. He is a qualified HSE Part III Commercial Diving Instructor, CSWIP 3.4U Inspection Controller and 3.1U NDT Inspector. Tim Sheehan Oceaneering International Services Limited Tim qualified as a Mechanical Engineer in 1980 from Coventry Technical College having served a Technical apprenticeship in the Automotive Industry. With more than 30 years of experience in the International Offshore Oil and Gas Industry Tim has been a strong supporter of the supply chain and has been responsible for a number of initiatives aimed at creating greater collaboration opportunities, enhanced technical delivery whilst maintaining robust commercial delivery. He has been responsible for opening a number of overseas offices bringing vital local content whilst delivering strong revenues to its parent companies. Tim has during his career held a variety of commercial roles specialising in Subsea engineering, construction and most notably flexible and rigid pipelines. He has held a number of senior roles, including Vice President Commercial for Technip in Houston, Managing Director of Bibby Offshore in the UK, MD of Stolt Offshore (Acergy) Group CEO at Rotech and COO of Reef Subsea. Tim joined Ashtead Technology in 2013, moving onto Oceaneering in He has been involved with Subsea UK from its inception, finally joining the board in 2007 bringing a diverse knowledge of not only the UK but international Oil & Gas markets.

8 David Sheret Archer Knight Limited David is part of the senior leadership team at subsea strategy support specialists, Archer Knight Limited based in Aberdeen. His role oversees the company s business acquisition, market intelligence, software development and PR & marketing functions. Previously he worked for almost 10 years at Bibby Offshore, most recently holding the position of General Manager: Global Business Development. David has a BA (Hons) from the Robert Gordon University in Law & Management and also studied film in New York at the IFINY. Phillip Simons Subsea 7 Phil Simons has more than 20 years experience in the subsea pipelines business. His career began in 1992 as an engineer in London for pipeline installation contractors and operators, European Marine Contractors, where he later became a senior project manager. In 2004 Phil joined Subsea 7 in Aberdeen as a senior project manager, progressing through the business to become the Vice President for Canada, Mediterranean and Russia in He became the Chief Operating Officer for UK & Canada and subsequently Vice President UK & Canada in 2013, before taking up the role of Vice President for North Sea and Canada in Phil s grounding in the commercial side of the business, as well as his engineering background has given him a strong skill set for upward progression through the company. Phil is a graduate of Leeds University where he studied Mining Engineering. Grant Thomson Savante Offshore Services Ltd In 2006 Grant created Savante as a means to develop subsea applications for laser technology, initially working as a trainee ROV technician in order to better understand the subsea oil and gas industry. He now works on behalf of operators as a client representative in both SAT diving and ROV disciplines. Many of the valuable lessons learnt from this operational experience are routinely incorporated into Savante planning and management. Previously, Grant worked towards the development of aviation-security and emergency first responder remote-sensing technologies. Grant holds a Ph. D. in Physics from the University of Leeds, B.Sc.(Hons) and a PGCE(S) from the University of Aberdeen. He has published numerous research papers and is a member of the Institute of Physics in London.
