A nationally and internationally distinguished artist, Piven s artwork is in the permanent collection of The Prints and Photographs Division of The Library of Congress in Washington DC. Piven, who is also the creator of the Parents Choice Award winning Apps (Faces imake, Right Brain Creativity), has recently spoken at Duke University about the connection between the abilities of our brain to perceive faces and our ability to adapt, evolve and be creative. (Hint: it is all connected to developing AWARENESS.) About The Lecture and Workshop In addition to his work as an artist and illustrator, Piven is an international lecturer who speaks to diverse audiences such as educators, design students or high-tech executives as well as an inspirer of creativity, who leads workshops all over the world. The Piven workshop encourages creativity, communication and self-reflection through the creation of collages with common everyday objects. Piven conveys the message that playfulness is an important tool to be used to create a space in which individual self reflection and growth are possible. Why is a Piven workshop important for an organization? Piven communicates and demonstrates in his lectures and art workshops some simple yet meaningful points which are relevant to our world today: Creativity is at need in any aspect of life and work. It is not just needed for making art. Honest and open communication flows within a playful and safe space. Visual communication allows for fresh contents to emerge, even contents which cannot yet be be defined in words. People can increase their creative skills by expanding their awareness to the fixed ways in which they observe their surroundings.

Below are some examples of workshops Piven has conducted in the past. Developing Innovation: The classic most popular workshop. Playing with a bunch of found objects is a window to free association in a non-judgmental environment. It stimulates reflection on what creativity is. (Previous clients: Jerusalem City Hall, Social Innovation Summit, WPP) Leadership Workshop: In this workshop the participants reflect on their leadership style and create a self portrait of themselves as leaders. This workshop is very popular with mid-level managers groups. (Previous clients: Amdocs, Teva, Schusterman Foundation, IDF) Team Communication Boost: This workshop is great for teams that are experiencing communication challenges. The safe space created for the workshop alongside the new playful language allows for the emersion of new forms of expression and communication. Exploring and defining the Vision of the company: This workshop allows the emersion of the company s values, which can lead to defining or redefining the company s Vision. (Previous clients: Bank Hapoalim, Pfizer, Takeda, Neopharm, Tiny Love) Imagining the future. A great way to think differently about new products, about future customers or about the future in general. (Previous clients: Orange, Isracard) Ice Breaking and Team Bonding: A great way to open a Conference, Convention or a Meeting where the participants do not know each other. The objects allow for new ways of presenting ourselves and new ways to relate to each other. In addition, as a smart fun activity it allows for team bonding. (Previous clients: US State Department, Tech Camp, ROI) Identity: Our identity is composed of different values, experiences, and emotions and the collage of all of those make the individual we are. Therefore a collage with objects is an ideal tool to deal with the question: What are we made of? This workshop is a favourite with Jewish Organizations throughout the world. (Previous clients: icenter, WZO, JCCs, Beth Hatfutsot, Schusterman Foundation, Taglit) Sustainability: Giving new life to objects is not only a form of recycling but it is a way of looking at our usual world in a new way, disconnecting ourselves from the digital world for a while and celebrating the beauty of the physical world. A workshop can take from 90 minutes to 4 hours to a full day depending on the subject and needs.
