WORK EXPERIENCES October 2012 to present Research Scientist and Software Engineer, IntelliView Technologies Inc., Calgary, AB, Canada (one year official maternity leave in between) Worked on Intelliview s video surveillance systems, including the infrastructure, individual products, software systems, different video cameras (color, thermal, and IP), various platforms and peripheral equipments (e.g., Digital I/O, Modbus device, etc.). Worked on various SDKs and open sources. Proposed, designed and developed image analytics features for video surveillance systems, including indoor/outdoor liquid leak detection, outdoor wellhead leak detection, license plate recognition, human detection, image stabilization, microscope image analysis and automatic control, face detection and recognition. Developed and delivered software releases including documentation. Filed patents related to outdoor wellhead leak detection and indoor/outdoor liquid leak detection. Conducted performance analysis on numerous image analytics algorithms. Familiar with Windows, UNIX/LINUX, Pascal, Assembly Language, C, Visual FoxPro/Basic/C++/C#, MFC, CVI, Python, SQL, and MATLAB. 4 Conducted research on image-based human face recognition algorithms. Studied face recognition, biometrics, pattern recognition, computer vision, statistical signal processing, and wavelet theories. Developed new face feature extraction and representation method that results in a significantly higher recognition rate with a substantial lower dimensionality. Developed new illumination normalization method without face pose and expression constraints that can enhance face images and facilitate the illumination invariant face recognition task. Developed new eye detection method in gray-scale face images under various illumination conditions. The method is robust to illumination and pose variations. Developed new pose normalization method for pose-invariant face recognition. Proposed and implemented a new video inter-frame mesh-based compression and coding algorithm. Developed a new object tracking technique and implemented in a feedback-controlled dielectrophoretic (DEP) levitation system. This automated measurement system is utilized to probe the frequency dependent dielectric properties of individual biological cells and other microscopic particles over a broad range of frequencies.
