When the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Co. began a century ago, the five founders had a simple goal: to harvest a mineral known as corundum from a mine called Crystal Bay. Now, over 100 years later, our science is found in industries across the board, impacting lives and businesses around the world s & beyond 3M founded in Two Harbors, MN. 3M patented and introduced Wetordry waterproof sandpaper the world s first waterresistant coated abrasive.
