What are the principal biophysical and socioeconomic challenges and how are they being addressed? How might increased independence from Denmark change Greenland s position on environmental protection and the exploitation of natural resources including marine fisheries?

What debates are occurring within Greenland regarding the prospect of foreign direct investment? (iv) Were Greenland to become independent, how would this affect the governance of the Arctic and specifically the operation of the Arctic Council? (iii) What is the outlook for a new international instrument on marine biodiversity beyond national jurisdiction (BBNJ Agreement) and how will this affect the Arctic?
