2 Faculty Participation in Events MECHZION, MECH Workshops/FDPs/Awareness Programs/Exhibitions: Engineering conducted a two Day hands-on-workshop on 'Computational Engineering with MATLAB' on March 3-4, Resource person was Dr. Hari Kumar, NIT, Warangal, Telangana. Faculty from various Institutions along with the SRITians faculty attended this workshop and learned the fundamentals of MATLAB software Mr S.Praveen, Mr.K. Kiran Kumar, attended a Six days State level work shop on FIP on NX Basic Design and Basic Simulation - VVIT Engineering College, Guntur on 15 th - 20 th May Ms. V. Arundhati, attended a two days work shop on Industrial Design Automotive ATME College of Engineering, In association MECHZION, with MECHCADD Centre, Mysore,Karntaka on 30 th -31 t- March Mr. K Neelakanta, attended a two days work shop on Industrial Design Automotive ATME College of Engineering, In association with CADD Centre, Mysore,Karntaka on 30 th -31 t- March Mr. K Neelakanta, attended a one day work shop on Engineering Materials of Today and RGM College of Engineering and Technology (Autonomous), Nandyal on 15 th Feb 2017 Mr. K. Kiran Kumar, attended a one day work shop on Engineering Materials of Today and RGM College of Engineering and Technology (Autonomous), Nandyal on 15 th Feb 2017 Mr. D.MadhuSudhan, attended a Six days work shop on FIP On CATIA Nellore on 10 th -15 th April Events Conducted by the Mechanical Department Engineering invited Prof. T V Rao, Academic Advisor, APSSDC for making the Mechanical Engineering students understand the expectations of core industry, job opportunities available for graduates, threats, areas to be focused for grabbing the opportunities and much more. Mr. Rao suggested the students focus on design and develop the mini & major projects. Also, urged students to learn latest tools and technologies (CAD, ANSYS, SKADA, LabVIEW, etc.) being used in the industry to become industry ready On 31/Jan/2017, Department of Mechanical Engineering conduc ted an awareness program on 'Higher Education, National level exams, and Job opportunities for Mechanical Engg Graduates' for all III B.Tech (Mech) students. The resource person M Mahipal Reddy, Senior Manager, Strategic Marketing, ACE Engineering Academy, Hyderabad talked about various things like the

3 Industry needs, importance of appearing for GATE, IES, IFS, PSUs etc exams; areas to be focused, options available, and the job opportunities in the field of Mechanical Engineering and much more. On6/April/2017, CAD (Centre for awareness and discussions) invited Sri. Elango Rangaswamy (who graduated from IITM and worked as a scientist at CSIR for two years and then went back to his native village to help the people resolve their issues like differences between communities, unemployment, agricultural problems and much more. He contested in Panchayat elections and became panchayat leader and made his panchayat as best across India and made more than 1200 panchayats to follow his path.) as a chief guest for a session conducted on "Engineer's role in building India." He talked about his personal experiences & achievements and urged students to contribute to the nation to reach next levels in all aspects by providing Engineering solutions to various issues. Students Participation in Events Engineering in association with Skyfi Education Labs (Aerotrix), Bengaluru conducted two two-day workshops on 'RC Aircraft' and 'Quadcopter' on March 17-18, 2017 (for III B.Tech Mechanical students) and March 24-25, 2017 (for II B.Tech Mechanical students) respectively. The resource persons of the workshop (Mr. Atul and his team) made the students design their own aircraft and Quadcopter and seen them soar into the sky. It gave an opportunity to students understand the theory behind the MECHZION, MECH functioning of aircraft/quadcopter and its design. It made them innovate by coming up with their own design and fabricate it from scratch. Workshops/FDPs/Awareness Programs/Exhibitions: Engineering conducted a two Day hands-on-workshopon 'Computat ional Engineering with MATLAB' on March 3-4, Resource person was Dr. Hari Kumar, NIT, Warangal, Telangana. Faculty from various Institutions along with the SRITians (both students & faculty) attended this workshop and learned the fundamentals of MATLAB software III B.Tech Mechanical students Dev Achyuth (80 KG category) and Naveen Sai Naik (60 KG category) won the gold medals in the district level Taekwondo competition held in Government Junior College, Ananthapuramu. They received the Gold medals from the Chief Guest of the event - Tahasildar, Ananthapuramu. Project Exhibition: On 5/May/2017, final year B.Tech students of MEC, ECE & EEE exhibited their projects carried out during their second semester to help their juniors understand the project works and also to motivate them to come up

4 with better projects down the line. Really, they are very nice projects, and a few can be extended to further level so that they can be useful to the society. We are very proud of our students for their excellent project works and wish them a great career ahead. List of a few projects exhibited on that day are mentioned below. Design and fabrication of solar powered vehicle. Design and fabrication of multipurpose pedal powered washing machine. Design and fabrication of solar grass cutter. Design and fabrication of hydraulic modern trailer. Fabrication and analysis of water heater, water cooler and air conditioner in a single unit. Exhaust Gas Heat Recovery rt increase the thermal efficiency of I.C.Engine. Automatic garbage collecting robot. Automatic identification of accidents and rescuing person. Blood leakage and heartbeat monitoring system. Combining Raspberry Pi and Arduino to form a low-cost, realtime autonomous vehicle platform. The drowsy driver alerting and eyes off the road detection system using MSP430. Implementation of a smart restaurant using the e-menu card. IoT Based Electricity Billing and Theft Detection System. IoT-based health care monitoring system. IoT-based security and home controlling system. IoT-enabled smart farming using raspberry pi3 and sensors. Railway safety measures using msp430. Smart home automation. Smart traffic control system. Spy robot with video streaming using raspberry pi. Fabrication of electric long board. Design and fabrication of quadcopter for surveillance. Summer Training Program: APSSDC (Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation) conducted a 'Summer Training Program' online from 06/June/2017 to 20/June/2017. The objective of this summer training program was to train the II, III & IV B.Tech students on courses that are specially designed taking industry needs and technology forecasts into account.
